I need to clarify that by "cooked" I'm mainly referring to his current status by rap fans. Thugger has countless classics, and I have no doubt that UY Scuti will sell well, but it's hard to deny that the recent jail leaks have been affecting the way that Thug is being perceived. Sep 4, 2025 at 3:40 PM I’ll have to see the first week album sales and streams for UY SCUTI. If they are significantly lower than what he averages, then I’d say he’s cooked. Although I don’t think Thug has ever been a sales juggernaut except for maybe So Much Fun in 2019. I’d say his reputation is cooked to a lot of people, but a bad reputation isn’t enough to get most people to stop listening to the music if they really like the music. Personally I can’t look at Thug the same now, but if he puts out a good album I will still be listening. The thing is, a lot of people believe Thug has already been slowly falling off in music quality since 2019. Combine that with all these leaked jail calls and that could be a recipe for disaster. A Drake feature probably can’t save him now, Drake can’t even save himself and the Drake feature stimulus package is completely dead as nobody cares about Drake features anymore. These fake mfs in the rap game haven’t been able to thrive since 2024 and they’ve all been falling apart. Thug got exposed as being someone who doesn’t follow the code like he wants people to believe. He can’t practice what he preaches. I’d like to believe that with this kind of environment finally thriving in hip hop, Thug is probably cooked. But only time will tell and it heavily depends on if the music is good. Based on his recent track record, it probably won’t be.
