That would be great, but I don’t know if it’ll happen. It’s just that, in my experience at least, most addicts love to blame everyone but themselves.

I didn’t call them that. You’re doing that thing again where you attack things I never said. I was clearly talking about Usher when I was talking about R&B. The Weeknd also made plenty of R&B. Beyoncé wasn’t even included in the group of recent halftime performers I was talking about. But you’ve already admitted to not reading posts you reply to so this isn’t surprising. You also don’t seem to know a whole lot about most of the topics you argue about on this forum. By the way, Beyonce and Rihanna both have absolutely made R&B lmao.

You said all the performances have been rap and R&B, when the only R&B one has really been Usher.

No I didn’t. This is what I said
I was talking about a hypothetical argument that YOU could make that would be better than your current one of “wahhhh black people wahhh” which you still haven’t answered for by the way. This has nothing to do with MY beliefs when I’m talking about YOUR argument. Understand now?

I didn’t give you a perfect hypothetical argument on purpose. You actually just fell into my trap. Good job, Marsh, you finally halfway came up with an argument that isn’t completely stolen from Twitter!

Your new hypothetical argument: “The recent Super Bowl halftime performances should’ve featured more genres besides hip hop, R&B, AND pop as hip hop and R&B are black dominated genres AND pop has plenty of popular black artists so it could be argued it isn’t necessarily white dominated either. I’d prefer that more clear cut white dominated genres like rock also be featured so the Super Bowl halftime shows are guaranteed to showcase more diversity.”

It’s still not a perfect argument but it’s much better than the first one I gave you and much better than your “wahhh black people wahhh” argument that you never provide an explanation for. Congratulations, you now have a new argument to use.

Yes, it does. You’re a self-admitted old man who doesn’t listen to modern music so how would you know anyway? Use Google or something. But I’m done playing this game with you. Let’s play a new game: why is it bad that so many black artists have been performing at the Super Bowl lately? If you can’t give me a good answer, you lose the game.

I’ve slowly realised it it isn’t just as simple as getting the Bass Brothers back in tbh. They did SSLP together with Em. But the best stuff from MMLP and TES was actually just Jeff Bass collabing with Em, I don’t think Mark was around much.

But I realised all that classic music wasn’t just Eminem rapping over Bass Bros beats. It was actually a very well-put together team that Eminem had assembled.

DJ Head - started as a DJ but in the studio would bring the crisp drum patterns for Eminem that we’re all familiar with, he did the drums for Without Me, SFTM, Renegade, Cleanin Out My Closet, Words Are Weapons and many other classics. Unfortunately Em stopped working with him after TES, because he had learned how to do the drums himself on the MPC by then, so it seems he didn’t need him anymore. (Big mistake imo)

Jeff Bass - Amazingly talented multi-instrumentalist. Played bass, guitar and piano on Eminems songs. Would create the melodic foundation to beats Eminem would use, and seemed to easily turn Eminem’s ideas, like humming melodies, into reality. He always did classic intros and build ups for Ems songs like Lose Yourself intro, Til I Collapse intro, The Kiss (Skit), SFTM intro, and many others. Would also sometimes solo or play outros too, like the Marshall Mathers solo at the end and (I think?) the mouth organ at the end of Say Goodbye To Hollywood. Stopped working with Em after TES, we don’t really know why, although they apparently worked together again in 06/07 for some sessions, in which the song Beautiful was created.

Steve King - Another multi-instrumentalist but fundamentally a guitarist, Also a studio engineer who would help with the recording side of things and would actually mix songs. He mixed Lose Yourself and a lot of TES I believe. He played guitar on songs like Superman, White America and Til I Collapse. There’s some videofootage of him in the studio during the D12 world sessions when Eminem is crating My Band

Luis Resto - We all know about Resto as he is the only one from this list (except Mike Strange) that still works with Eminem. A classical pianist that also plays guitar. The majority of self-produced stuff from Encore onwards by Eminem is pretty much just him and Resto (although Steve King contributed a lot to Encore). I believe he was introduced to Eminem by Jeff Bass in early 2001. I personally theorised that No Apologies (EDIT: I mean “Girls” from Devils Night) was actually one of the first songs him and Eminem solely worked on together. It seems he was brought in to add little bits of emotion and melody to the tracks, usually the third verse. He did the instrumentation that elevates the third verses on songs like Lose Yourself and SFTM. He also worked on SGTH, Soldier, Square Dancr and Hailies Song. It seems like Eminem pretty much replaced Jeff Bass’ role with Resto.

Mike Strange - mixing engineer that also still works with Eminem today. I believe he was an assistant mixing engineer on most of TES. Although I personally think from recovery onwards, I think since he became Eminems main mixing engineer, some of the stuff he’s done has been very iffy. Even on DoSS I think some of the vocals are horribly mixed.

Anyway, for me this was the dream team. The avengers for Eminems classic sound. That’s why I don’t think it’s as simple as just “getting the bass bros back” although I’d definitely take that at this point over anything else. Obviously we will never get Steve King back in the team. But getting Head, Bass and Resto together again would be absolutley mind blowing imo.

The problem is that Interscope has legal issues with the Bass Brothers, which is also the reason no unreleased songs with them have been released.
I hate to say it, but Joe Strange was our last chance to hear some of these songs, but we won't hear them anymore.

I love seeing him struggle to come up with good arguments and answers to my questions. That’s the only reason I’m even still entertaining him on this topic in the first place. I pressed him multiple times about it until he finally came up with that horrible answer above. I even gave him multiple hypothetical arguments that he could use instead but he didn’t seem to understand that. I’ve thoroughly dismantled his argument now though

The funniest thing about this is that you were asking for Chris Brown to perform while complaining that black artists are performing:lmaooo: just had to throw that out there before I stop talking about this.
