It's become a bit of a running joke to say that EmSXN is what 90% of this forum is, even if we only have like 6 members with 10+ alts lol. But it's definitely true. There are always 2-5 Em threads in the sidebar, and most posters (including myself). probably wouldn't have signed up on here if it wasn't for EmSXN. But it feels like a majority of the other main artist SXN's are dead. Here's a quick overview.

KanyeSXN: The Donda release brought it back to life for a bit, but activity in the SXN is almost completely dead. Most likely because of the Nazi bs he's on, so this one's pretty understandable

DrakeSXN: Aside from the Iceman thread (which is mainly made up of Marsh fighting off like 20 different posters), there have only been 3 threads made in 2025

Young ThugSXN: Aside from the UY Scuti thread, only 2 threads have been made in 2025

FutureSXN: No threads, and no posts have been made in this SXN in 2025

KendrickSXN: There's been some activity like the Super Bowl and GNX threads, but aside from those, the only noteworthy thread is the Abortion Money mystery.

Do you think it's possible for these SXN's to have a comeback? Or is EmSXN destined to be the sole survivor?

What can I say, I’m the last one standing. Guess you can see what Section 80 did to me

SZNs need to be modernized since Thug and Future ain't what they used to be. Ye one also needs to go, sadly.

I wonder what artists could make good replacements though. Maybe Tyler? I’m not sure

I don’t know, but they’re gonna find a way to blame it on me. And so I guess I’ll just post this:

In all seriousness I think there’s a bunch of factors behind it. The fact that we have so few members left limits the amount of artists that will get talked about, especially when it honestly seems a lot of these members don’t listen to many different artists and don’t even listen to new music very often. Some members are also on the older side and might be at a stage of their lives where they don’t care about new music anymore. Some people just aren’t as passionate about new music as we are.

I think there’s also the bigger issue of the quality of discussions that take place. The Album of the Week Club and occasionally the Eminem thread seem to be the only places where at least somewhat in-depth conversation about the music takes place. Other than that, a lot of conversations are very basic with people either saying the music is fire or trash. If it isn’t that, there’s a bunch of people trolling and arguing. Surely that could scare away anyone who wants to have genuine conversations about the music. Or if it’s a popular artist, the conversation devolves into being about album sales (but that’s a bigger problem with music discourse as a whole these days).

Also to talk about specific sxns you listed, I don’t really f--- with Ye anymore so I wouldn’t participate much in that anyway unless he releases something really good. And I only participate in the Drake SXN to make fun of him and because I still have small hopes in the back of my mind that he will release something good again even though he keeps dropping mid. As for Kendrick, I think a lot of people on here really aren’t fans of him anymore which is sad to see because I think this has been one of his best eras yet.

That one for the nerds. Weeknd replacing Ye. Gay vampire or Travis replacing Future.
