Sep 7, 2025 at 2:08 AM @AOTWClub @Ripper Roo Has chosen this weeks album IDK- Is he real? I will tally up taylor swift Thursday!
Sep 7, 2025 at 2:14 AM Yeah bro he’s dope. I still gotta check the s--- he dropped this year. You’re gonna love it Thanks bruh Yeah I was gonna pick this album last round but that round already had a lot of rap albums so I wanted to switch it up. This round there hasn’t been many rap albums so I felt the time was right. Plus I think this is the first rap album I’ve picked (well technically I also picked GNX but that was because it just came out and I was willing to let it take my spot instead of making it a special event). IDK is a diverse rapper I think most people will find something they like
Sep 7, 2025 at 2:38 AM lol h--- yeah man. I’ve been trying to display as many different types of artists as I can with the albums and the mixtapes. Although everyone has their specialties. I’m more of a rap, pop, R&B kind of guy whereas you’re someone who knows way more about rock than I do
Sep 7, 2025 at 4:26 AM I have a huge rap library, but I don't keep up much with the current scene. I've been fully immersed into rock and metal music lol
Sep 7, 2025 at 4:29 AM Some great discoveries have came from this group, sometimes even indirectly via similar suggestions.
Sep 7, 2025 at 5:28 AM nope, I listen to flops no one talks about because I did like the singles so I checked the mixtapes/project so to me, It’s a way of how you present the project, if the single is boring or straight bad, I won’t check that album.
Sep 7, 2025 at 12:48 PM The pendulum has swung for me where I haven't been checking out as much rap as I used to cause the Metalcore and Emo/Pop Punk scenes are actually in a decent place rn so I fell back in love with that s--- and have been listening to it almost exclusively lately.
Sep 7, 2025 at 1:01 PM The beauty is you can swing back and forth, maybe you stay in this phase for a few months or years, then drift back into rap and uncover a whole bunch of stuff that you've missed. Maybe even wander into other genres.
Sep 7, 2025 at 6:35 PM @AOTWClub Taylor Swift - Folklore Review: This won’t come as a surprise, since I’ve expressed my dislike for this kind of music many times before. Unfortunately, this album was no exception. Once again, the slow, soft singing over soft melodies just isn’t for me. On my scale, it feels like a 5, but I’ll bump it up to a 6 and as promised, add the extra 0.5. Final score: 6.5/10 Thanks for sharing
Sep 7, 2025 at 7:57 PM A couple of my favorite albums this year have been rap, you'd be able to hear one of them if you joined during my week!
Sep 7, 2025 at 8:09 PM Speaking of rap records, 2025 has been absolutely nuts. Clipse, Tyler, JID, Westside Gunn, Freddie Gibbs, Carti. Not Wayne though
Sep 7, 2025 at 8:19 PM This is why saying “rap is dead” is always wrong. Rap isn’t dead. Rap has never died. It just the rap THEY like is dying out. The fakeness is dying out. Things are changing right in front of our faces. People are waking up. We are ushering in a new era. Doors are opening for the ones who are real, the ones who stand for something, the ones who have that spirit, the ones who are locked in. If you ain’t on that wave, you’re getting left behind. I don’t think people realize the major shift that’s been happening since 2024.
Sep 7, 2025 at 10:40 PM Insane how every album here is an 8 or above too (haven’t gotten to JID or WSG yet but I got no doubt they knocked it out of the park)
Sep 7, 2025 at 11:18 PM Gonna try to get my review for folklore out tommrow instead, work kicked my a--- and I want to turn my brain off for the rest of the night lmao
