He stopped working with him full time in 2002. They worked together briefly in 2006 after TES. Considering the lawsuit happened in 2007, no, it doesn’t.

But why did Jeff allow Beautiful to be released. He said during their last phone call that he was surprised out of all the songs they did that that's the one he chose and Em said he has to go work with other people and the reason they stopped working was financial. Why didn't Jeff just say no I'm not allowing you to release Beautiful.

And then years later the Bass Brothers wanted to re release Infinite and wanted to release a series of 12" vinyl singles and that didn't go anywhere and Paul sent out that tweet aimed at them but not mentioning them and then all we got was the remixed single release.

It seems to me like the door is open but they want paid for that work. If Jeff really worked with him through 2006 and maybe 2007 and we know a lot of Relapse was recorded in 2008 then there's not a huge gap between those last songs made and Relapse coming out.

Jeff is the only person that has said in public interviews that the music Eminem has made post-hiatus just wasn’t “Eminem” sounding. He said the change was clear to hear. He’s also the only one to mention Eminems drastic voice change. All the other yes men like Porter, Royce and others will never ever publicly acknowledge any of that stuff.

Also, another point regarding why just bringing Bass back wouldn’t solve all the problems, Beautiful wasn’t actually the only song we’ve heard from those sessions. Touchdown, Peep Show and Young Buck - Loose My Mind all seem to have come from this sessions too. Although Loose My Mind beat is promising, the others aren’t exactly the mind blowing production from Eminem and Bass we expect to hear.

I still think it’s politics and money related. The lawsuit claimed money owed to them between 2002-2005. So maybe they refused to work with Eminem for a period when they felt they were owed money. And when they sued it basically burnt the bridge. Imo eminem doesn’t want to fully say f--- to bass brothers publicly as he’ll know his fans will get wind of it and call him ungrateful.

Both Mark and Jeff were at the rock and roll Hall of Fame. Surely they weren't sitting in the crowd next to regular fans? They must have been invited as guests.

The thing with a lot of the people surrounding Eminem is they are artists. They are rappers. Jeff Bass was never from the world of rap. They're maybe listening to Eminem and they hear the dope rhymes. Jeff is basically the general public, he's hearing the whole thing and it's all about mood and a feeling but again....some of those later songs just weren't the same as the older songs.

Jeff brought Luis Resto on board. They are friends. Jeff said he had a family issue going on which is why he isn't on Encore and wasn't around for any of those sessions so I guess Luis did replace him in a way so those sessions would be 2003 through 2004, you'd need to listen to what Em did with Luis and compare that with his work with the Bass Brothers and see if it gives that same feeling. Everyone talks about the leaked songs but I think Puke and Spend Some Time and Yellow Brick Road are just as good as anything he did prior. I could imagine Jeff producing beats similar to those.

Maybe that's why not a lot of stuff was released for the Eminem Show mad MMLP expanded. Maybe outside of the Bass Brothers which Em would probably be co producer of, there's really only Dre produced stuff.

Maybe that's a big part of why we got Jimmy Brian and Mike and ELAM. Maybe his options are limited to what he did with Luis and what Dre produced for him and during that 2000 to 2002 period where those albums, including Devils Night were released.....maybe there's just not a lot of Dre tracks to choose from.

That’s because Steve King was still there adding his input. But Encore is definitely lacking from Dj Heads drums imo. Eminem doing them himself just never hit as much. My First Single and Crazy In Love being prime examples. Another thing I don’t like about Encore is how Eminem suddenly became obsessed with doing those “Singy” vocals where he does one low take, and then screams in the background an octave higher on the second take.

He does it all through Puke, he does it on the second verse of Yellow Brick Road, the Evil Deeds chorus, My First Single chorus, Big Weenie chorus literally all the way through Crazy In Love, the Encore chorus. Nearly every song

and it every rarely works imo, most of the time it just hurts the ears. It works on the Spend Some Time intro. And maybe the Mockingbird chorus

if We As Americans was recorded later on instead of late 2002, he probably would have spoiled that intro too by doing it

Who’s the web logo on the back of the albums up until revival? Is that anything to do with bass brothers? Also it seems eight mile style who controls his publishing between 2002-2005 were linked to bass brothers.

edit. So it did seem like it was the bass brothers company but closed in 2013 after mmlp2, which explains why it wasn’t on revival onwards. I wonder what they received money wise from relapse - mmlp2 when they didn’t work with him.

Web Entertainment is their label. When was Infinite released or when did he sign with them? Could have been a 20 year contract.

They signed him to a contract very very early on I think in the mid 90s.

when Eminem signed to Aftermath he was still under the Bass Bross contract so as part of the deal they were given royalties. The lawsuit happened when they thought they weren’t being paid enough as the internet was blowing up and downloads (and later streaming, obviously) started making money, as opposed to just CD sales.

There’s so much s--- they could have used for the TES expanded edition.

Theres a version of Sing For The Moment out there that Jeff Bass originally played the outro solo on instead of Joe Perry. And Eminem loved Jeff’s solo that much he almost didn’t allow Joe Perry to do his solo until they convinced Eminem to let him do it. I’d love to hear the original version with Jeff’s solo.

There’s also the original version of Lose Yourself which had heavy guitars for the chorus instead of those synthy stabs that Resto later added.

not into Youtubers, but I understand Em has to find other ways of making money like he did with Fortnite & merch.

Another little fact about Lose Yourself, the demo version and the studio version are in two different keys. Seems like Steve King decided to move it all up a key from C to D. Another little stroke of genius that goes unnoticed.

You seem pretty knowledgeable about this stuff (certainly more so than I) which makes it all the more surprising you didn't unequivocally recognize the leaked MM outro solo as Jeff Bass's work. Do you still have your doubts that it's the real thing? N.b. it was included in the recently leaked instrumental collection (77 hq mp3s in total).

Speaking of @Bubbels, I think he was one of the few posters besides me who really wanted to hear the uncut MM outro. I wonder if he's heard it yet? Extended+ version:
