Man, this is so crazy when you think about it.
I'm surprised it hasn't been posted anywhere here or on Reddit yet.
I really feel bad for him, but also bad for Em. It's a really tricky situation.
To this day, I still don't know how to feel about all of this.
It went from something cool to something really nasty.
I'm still thankful for all the instrumentals, and I wish there were still more, but when we talk about the leaks, it hits differently somehow.
As much as I wanna hear new music and as much as I like some of the leaked songs, and 2 of them will probably make it to my top 3 songs of 2025, it hits differently.

Bet it’s hella awkward between Mike Strange and Eminem in the studio ever since this happened. Especially if Eminem has mentioned the leaks in newly recorded songs. Wonder if Mike has continued as normal as his main engineer.

By the way fellow stans, who remembers this quote by DJ Head?

You’ve worked on and heard plenty of music that most people will never hear in their lifetime. What’s some of the illest material you’ve ever heard in the studio with Em that’s never been released?
There is one song that I wish would come out. I know he didn’t like it, but I think Dre or Mel-Man did it. I can’t remember the name of the song, but it was hot as s---. Whoo! This was in between The Marshall Mathers LP and The Eminem Show. This song is, man….this song is ridiculous. It’s classic, classic, classic Em. You know how he can get serious but also funny all in the same gameplan? It was on that level, but it was like d---! Everything about that song was classic Em beyond belief. It had like a New Edition hook on it.
That song was my number one Eminem song. I wish I had a copy of that s---. I have no f---ing idea why Em didn’t like that track, because all of us was like, “Dude, you got to put that s--- out!” Paul [Rosenberg] and Denaun [Porter] and everyone were like, “Dog…really?” The wordplay, the rhyme schemes were all in the pocket real hard. I haven’t thought about that song in a long time.

Some of you speculated he was talking about Jimmy Brian and Mike when that got released. Others, including myself thought his description fit ELAM perfectly. Well we finally have it confirmed by the man himself:

Super greatful for his response. I’m actually gonna message him back asking him what he knows about No Apologies and the early Encore leaks. Id appreciate if others didn’t spam him with questions too as it might make him not want to respond, but hopefully he answers a couple more of my questions. Happy to take suggestions for anything else I could ask him too

d--- good looking out. And rereading this description I for sure thought it was ELAM. Interesting that he liked the other song so much lol. But yeah bro definitely asked about No Apologies and please let us know what you find out!

You might ask him if the hook in the released version of JBM is the same one he remembers, and also the same take. I've argued with people who bought Paul's claim that it's 100% modern that it sounds too close to the c-m on Everybody and I'm Back hooks to be totally new. At most there might be a thin layer of modern Eminem over the fully extant 2000 take. This wouldn't necessarily be the first thing I'd ask him if I had his full attention but since it's related to your original question he'll likely respond. Also that's one of my favorite Eminem hooks.

I’ll see what I can find out. Don’t want to pester him with too many questions because he could probably easily go and do a paid interview with some online magazine or something so I wouldn’t expect him to give lots of info to some randomer in his DMs.

im surprised he responded at all though. Even though it did take him almost 2 weeks. Fair play to him. Hopefully he responds again.

Jimmy, Brian and Mike is one of his worst ever songs that he has officially released. DJ Head acting like it’s the next coming of The Way Iam. The original verse is worse than the new verse he added on to it as well. His team sucks but at least he never listened to them back then and trusted in his own art. Now I reckon he seeks out validation, ideas and how to construct an album from the likes of Paul with his music.

As Head says in the interview, he hadn’t heard it for a very long time. Probably 10 plus years. The interview was from 2013, during the awful MMLP2 era. I’m pretty sure any MMLP-era song would have sounded amazing to him in his head at that point, especially after not hearing it for over a decade.

    Man, great move!
I really thought it was EILAM, cause it's sooo much more like classic Em. I would even say it is classic Em, and it switches from a serious tone to a funny tone back and forth
like Head described it back in 2013. On the other hand, JBAM is more in a funny tone/cartoonish SSLP-like and was recorded for MMLP and not between MMLP and TES.
DJ Head must have got the era wrong, cause JBAM was an earlier MMLP cut, like EILAM was an earlier TES cut.
Oh, and I get why Em didn't like JBAM, cause it really wasn't that good, while EILAM is super great and really has that classic Em 'you never know when he's serious or funny at the same time' vibe.

It is. I read an article where the last lines were something like 'although the files are back to the studio under wrap, the feeling/trust under the people/workers is not the same anymore'.
Sometimes I wanna believe that Em staged that to find out what fans want and to test the reactions, but I don't know, man
I mean it would be the best thing ever, but apart from the controversial s---, there are also songs that he reused. So, it doesn't make so much sense at all.
I'm sure he will address some of it. That's for sure.

I've got a new song I wrote to Marshall called "Armageddon" it's about me caught up in the end times and somehow I turned into a beast and don't know where to turn and I'm acting like Stan in the 2nd verse. It's really dope I'm gonna also show love to Section80 on my mixtape and I sound like Slim FB_IMG_1758590307124.jpg
