IGOR is undoubtedly one of the defining albums of the past 25 years, which kinda makes me forget how strange of an album it is. An artist who did strictly rap before and after this managed to make one of the most daring albums that a mainstream artist could make, and it actually paid off.

"IGOR'S THEME" is blunt and straight to the point. 10/10. Everybody and their mom knows "EARFQUAKE", and it's still great all these years later. "NEW MAGIC WAND" and "A BOY IS A GUN* have to be some of Tyler's best with stellar production, performances, and overall vibe. "PUPPET" and "WHAT'S GOOD" are stellar too, and I can't help but sing along to "GONE GONE/THANK YOU". "ARE WE STILL FRIENDS" is an amazing closer, and it wraps things up perfectly.

Part of what makes IGOR so great is it's emotional aspect. As someone who's currently going through it rn, IGOR encompasses what "Falling In Love" feels like. Similar to another love-classic, that being My Bloody Valentine's loveless, IGOR also depicts the ugly, even downright obsessive side of love which a lot of albums seem to just put through. IGOR is simultaneously personal, and universal. I have a soft spot for Tyler's earlier OFWGKTA work, and I'm a big fan of his most recent work (I FINALLY LIKE CHROMAKOPIA Y'ALL), but IGOR is his magnum opus in my opinion. As much as I make fun of Tyler fans (despite being one myself), I have no issue calling this album a masterpiece that I will love for years and years to come

How I Loved You is a very interesting album. The Angels of Light come in the middle of the first and second eras of Swans, and the shift to Dark, Gothic Country is very welcome in my opinion. There are some great tracks on here like "Evangeline", "Untitled Love Song", "Jennifer's Sorry", and "My Suicide".

And I have a special announcement....

This log is going on an indefinite hiatus. When I started logging back in February, I didn't know that I listened to this much music. Sadly, writing blurbs about every album that I listen to has kinda affected my listening, and I think it's a good time to step back. I thought about getting to 450 or 500 first, but I don't think I have that much patience. The thread doesn't even really have that much engagement anymore anyway, so I think now is a decent time to stop. I'm not sure what will happen with this thread honestly. Maybe It'll never come back. Maybe I'll use it only for reduxes, or albums that I actually have something to say about. Maybe It'll go back to what it once was in a few months. I'm not sure.

I want to thank all the posters that have posted in this thread before, notably Allis Mines, DiggleDogg69, Jimmy Jazz, Minato, Marsh, and Bigfoot1

    And just like that....
