Oct 4, 2025 at 3:15 PM Taylor was known back in my day as the girl who only writes about breakups. So if you want the old Taylor, she gonna have to break up.
Oct 4, 2025 at 3:19 PM I didn’t even listen to Taylor’s old albums though. I’ve heard the hits but I haven’t listened to a full album of hers before Lover. I don’t have nostalgia for old Taylor nor want old Taylor. Midnights was good and there wasn’t a breakup involved there as far as I know. How she went from that to Tortured Poets I have no idea. More like Tortured Eardrums. I’m still gonna give this new album a chance, I hope I like it more than the people I’ve seen reviewing it.
Oct 4, 2025 at 3:32 PM Gen Z don’t listen to old taylor. Hold up, skip Showgirls and go listen to reputation right now midget
Oct 4, 2025 at 3:38 PM I know some swifties in real life that think the tourtred poets department album is her best album ever. And they are serious. Lmfao
Oct 4, 2025 at 3:55 PM Taylor is just at that level where there will always be people who think what she puts out is great no matter how mediocre or bad it actually is. Nicki Minaj is like that too
Oct 4, 2025 at 6:05 PM The life of a show girls sold 2.7 M physical Copies. Jesus. Wtf?! Swifties are insane.
Oct 4, 2025 at 6:28 PM lol this chick can't make an album without using a breakup. The divorce album should be fire
Oct 4, 2025 at 7:06 PM Selling 3 million albums first day is truly insane tho. Like that’s bigger than me in 2000.
Oct 4, 2025 at 9:33 PM I wonder what JT will have to say about it when he’s back (if he comes back). The album is def getting a lot of hate and scores of 2’s and 3’s but it’s not that bad. Lowkey people gotta listen to more music if they think this album is a 3 or below. I say 4 minimum and 6 max
Oct 4, 2025 at 9:37 PM People are sometimes hyperbolic. I’ve noticed when talking about music some people will call something trash or terrible but really mean to call it mediocre/mid. Like to some people mid = trash automatically even though they’re different things on the rating scale.
Oct 4, 2025 at 10:24 PM Replayed it twice today. Enjoyed it more, still think it’s average for taylor and don’t have any highs like Red, Reputation or 1989 did.
Oct 5, 2025 at 4:08 PM The backlash is kinda funny tho, since I felt this is what she should’ve gotten hate for last year. She been doing the same thing for years. Dropping way too much, variants, ect. She just got overexposed. If the single actually had a hook people would eat it up more. But that’s my problem with modern pop music. The chorus’s aren’t as catchy and the hooks are TikTok pandering. It’s not just Taylor’s but the whole industry that is starting to sound bland and A.I.
Oct 5, 2025 at 4:13 PM I just re-listened to 1989 in full this morning and HOLY s---, Pop music in the last decade really fell off a f---ing cliff. Where are the Wildest Dreams, Style, How you get the Girl….. I can go on. But when you put them back to back, musically it’s kinda crazy. And it’s not just taylor, I’m calling out all the main pop girls too. Step your game up.
Oct 5, 2025 at 5:41 PM Turns out I was right about her releasing new music this year… except it was just this The year isn’t over yet though!
Oct 5, 2025 at 7:07 PM Sabrina putting out some dope s--- too, also enjoyed Dua’s album from last year. Pop is in good hands imo but it ain’t doing what it used to do
