    Freddy vs. Jason - 7/10

This is an awesome, classic movie. Obviously it’s not without its flaws and not everybody is gonna like it. Yeah it can be cheesy but I don’t mind it. Realistically they did a good job for what they had to work with.

A movie like this was never gonna be 10/10. They had epic fights and blended Freddy’s and Jason’s worlds together nicely. This is not the type of movie you’re gonna get something deep out of, it’s just pure entertainment and there’s nothing wrong with that. There’s plenty of stories and endings they discussed and could’ve went with, but I still like what we got.

    Friday the 13th (2009) - 7/10

I like this reboot. It doesn’t quite reach the heights of parts 3 and 4, but it’s good. I like how they made Jason less dumb in this. I feel like another reboot these days could be even better.

And that concludes my rewatch of the Friday the 13th movies, just in time for Halloween. Happy Halloween!

    Tales of Halloween

If you are a fan of the holiday, this is great. From pumpkins, to trick or treaters, candy, costumes... all traditions are present. 10 small stories that are loosely connected. Some are kinda lame, some are funny, some are pretty good even. But all of them perfectly catch the spirit of Halloween! 7/10

    Halloween 4

The funniest thing about this movie to me is how in '88 they made the characters a lot smarter than 30 years later in 2018 lol.
Trying to keep Myers out their houses, calling the state police, a mob with guys w guns looking for him, people actually getting the f--- out instead of facing him. And at the end they s---t his a--- goodbye.
30 years later (Kills): no police because tHe sYstEm iS bRoke!! People facing him one on one trying to fight him... and the 'mob' is a bunch of fa----s with sticks and bats lmfaooo.
Halloween 4; shouldn't excist because Michael was at least blind but I'm glad it did. Great Halloween vibe, dope music, good chases, and Myers back creeping before attacking. Jamie/Rachel were great replacements for Laurie! 8.7/10

    The Fog

While this is not a halloween themed movie, it's definitely one I always watch on the 31st or the day before.

A spooky tale by John Carpenter with half of the Halloween cast, same type of music works perfectly. I really wish there were more movies like this I love it. It's not that scary, and hardly any gore, but I'm hooked because of the vibe. Gr8 movie. 8/10

    Trick 'r Treat

Unlike Tales of Halloween, these stories are more connected and sort of come together during the movie. This truly is about Halloween traditions and what happens if you break it. The perfect holiday movie. 8/10

    Halloween

I don't know what to say what hasn't been said before by countless others. Sure the franchise also has some weak movies, and a few OK ones.
But this one is by far my favorite out of all the 'big' ones like Elmst, Chucky, F13 etc.
October 31st 2026 see you again then! 10/10

    Halloween "H40"

It's really incredible that after 40 years and so many average sequels (except 4 and to an extent 2) they managed to actually make a fantastic sequel. This is so so much better than H20 lol.

Returning to JC's theme music with an update, back in Haddonfield, a lot of great throwbacks/easter eggs (love the H3 masks and H2 scene with the boombox kids and the kills after). The podcast douchebags were insufferable , Laurie was right telling them to f--- off trying to make her feel bad and defend Michael lol. But at least they brought Michael his OG mask and not a s-----y one like in some other movies. And their deaths were great ngl. The 'twist' with the doctor was great. It's nostalgic but with a modern touch. A perfect example how to do that! Fantastic movie. 9/10

Halloween is over now here... but Halloweekend isn't. Still got Scream 6, Kills / Ends and a few others lined up for the weekend!

    Halloweekend continues:

Nightmare On Elmstreet 7: New Nightmare

Same as Halloween 2018 it's kinda amazing that the 7th movie, after a lot of average sequels, returns to greatness. Wes gave it the 'scream' treatment, a movie within a movie. In a great way. Freddy is scarier than ever, also because it isn't really Freddy but an ancient demon using his meatsuit. Love that it includes Robert, Heather, John as themselves but also Craven himself!
Imo by far the scariest movie and also, close to 1, the very best. 9.2/10

    The Thing

It has been like 10 years since I last watched this. The scary part, to me, isn't even the monster itself. But more not knowing who to trust lol. Great movie and a nice setting in the cold. Reminded me a bit of Alien. 7.7/10

    Prince Of Darkness

Sticking with John Carpenter, this is the first time watching this. Ngl the story was a little strange. But it has some genuine creepy moments and lots of stuff happened. Combine that with excellent music (which helped a lot) and some good characters, like Donald Pleasance, and its a win. Not on the level of Halloween imo but I enjoyed it! 6.7/10

They needed to follow up 7 with another movie delving into the demon more.. would've been cool

Could have been perhaps but it would probably be a bit too 'far away' from the Elmstreet/Freddy story. Really glad they did this though!

    Scream 6

Six movies in and still great. I don't think that ever happened before. Yes no Sid s----d a little but knowing she was alive and well was good enough for me. Kirby & Gale were good legacy's. Gale's scene with the killer was so awesome.
Aside from the opening and the s-----y monologue (Mindy) later on the cousins and Tara were kinda cool. Still think the killers were lame as fuckkk but the whole theatre s--- was cool. And yeah love badass Samantha (& Tara). The scene in the metro was nice too. And imo the opening scene was the best since Scream 3 (Cotton's death). Another classic.
    8.7/10

I am really excited for 7 but also very afraid this is gonna be the one to f--- s--- up by trying too hard.. given the fact that people come back from the dead could be awesome (flashbacks perhaps) but also very stupid. Happy Sid is back, and Gale, and Dewey in a way.. hope they do Sam and Tara Justice. Please don't f--- this up!

    Now back to Michael
