Nov 4, 2025 at 6:57 PM It's hard not to get the feeling MMLP2 is one of the most if not the most discussed Eminem album on this site. I don't know how people don't get tired of it. It's not a very interesting chapter in his career at all, unlike Encore for all its flaws.
Nov 4, 2025 at 6:57 PM love this song. i wonder what the issue was with the sample, like if they said no or just didn’t say yes in time
Nov 4, 2025 at 7:02 PM it was a pretty huge deal back then. the monster video calling back to all his old videos, those enigmatic espn clips with will ferrel etc where he was back to blonde mimicking his old druggy interviews, working with the legendary rick rubin even tho his production ain’t what it used to be, rap god breaking like a billion records, headlights clearing the air with deb, i still remember when the album leaked on halloween night on SL, people went crazy over that bad guy 4th verse. i still play the album front to back once in a while, it’s just such a vibe to me. i feel like he was in a really fascinating place in 2012-2013. just my opinion tho, thank you in advance for not crucifying me for sharing
Nov 4, 2025 at 7:59 PM I was as hyped as the next stan during that period, but 95% of it is just super depressing looking back, since I realize now that I never liked the actual music. I just liked the idea of liking it. And so I willfully looked past all the flaws and corny out-of-touch oldmanness that pervaded the album and read into it my own vague impression of what an MMLP sequel might sound like in 2013, which colored my first listening experience and gradually faded with later listens. Now it's plain as day that it's just extremely mediocre music, a shameless and uninspired cash grab. There were a handful of decent moments to be fair, but these were few and far-flung and never came close to even his throwaway verses from the MMLP era (Light Speed, Watcher, What the Beat etc) not to mention anything from MMLP. He didn't even sound like the same person anymore, partly due to dropping the blaccent, but what the f--- happened to his personality? He fell off so hard by 2013 that it's nothing shy of a miracle that he managed to make Antichrist 10 years later (the rhyme scheme leading up to the Epstein line trumps anything from MMLP2, your precious bonus tracks included).
Nov 4, 2025 at 8:46 PM I wish Em would make a mini doc series on all his albums. Just explaining each song, which ones didn’t make the cut, and his overall process for the album. At the very least he could put out another “Angry Blonde” type book.
Nov 5, 2025 at 1:08 AM Even during that period people (including myself) were calling it out for the pathetic nostalgia-grabbing attempt that it was because he didn’t know what to talk about anymore. The name, the desperate attempt at bringing the blonde hair back but it looked white instead, the weird thing he was doing in interviews just staring and not speaking, it was all so cringey. The hype all came from the original MTV awards promo, then it was all downhill from there. Then a few years later we found out it was all Paul the Jews idea pulling the strings as usual. Eminem said in a few interviews that it was Paul that told him the music he was working on “sounds like MMLP!” putting the idea in his head.
Nov 5, 2025 at 9:37 AM fr tho i definitely liked the album better than a lot of you guys did, although i do agree with some of the criticisms, especially the production and tracks like smb and stiw. plus the name was a terrible idea and brought on a lot of preconceived notions the album didn’t need
Nov 5, 2025 at 11:24 AM Thanks Yeez. Thanks for Supporting, and just for that stunt I’m gonna make a sequel while sitting. Like Christopher Reeves acting. Hehe
Nov 5, 2025 at 2:50 PM ^Too predictable. I baited you to call me a sp** again, I knew you’d do it. What a s--- person and poster LOL. You deserve every bad thing that’s happened to you in your life
Nov 5, 2025 at 3:06 PM You already spent months begging for Rosalía only to hate her new single. It’ll be even more hilarious if you spent this whole year begging for Nas only to hate his new album. With the amount of L’s you’ve been taking this year it seems about right.
Nov 5, 2025 at 3:33 PM For those of us who haven’t been paying attention — has there been any actual news or reliable rumors regarding album #13? Skimming through the thread, the conversations seem to be about anything but the actual thread topic…
