Jan 4, 2026 I thought possibly the Young Joc and Dro tracks would be the least known. Glad some of you guys have found a new song or two.
Jan 4, 2026 @Bigfoot1 - Versus review f---ing glad I’m finally getting to review this mixtape as my first review of 2026. Again my bad for taking so long, but now that the ole liver’s been regenerated I’ll get right into my thoughts. Right off the bat, looking at the tracklist hyped me up cause there’s a lot of names on here whose s--- I enjoy greatly, people like Fabolous, Clipse, DMX, Methodman and Redman… you name it. Keepin’ It Gangsta was a great mood setter and a head nodder. Loved hearing it and replaying it in my busted a--- car. Onto the Trick Daddy song: I adored the production on here. Very soulful and entertaining to listen as the verses build to the cool hook. Song’s whimsical af lol. This track was probably one of my favorites. Virginia is a classic tune off a classic project. Love everything about this. That intro verse is probably one of my favorites on Lord Willin. By the time I’d gotten to Greed Hate Envy I had already realised I enjoyed the sound of this mixtape very much. Then the Nelly song went ahead and amplified that further. G’D Up was another great spot on here, the song sounds sinister as f---. That piano loop is on some 2000s horror movie s---. Good synergy between everyone on the track all around. Shoulder Lean had some good moments to it but it was probably one of my least favorites all around. Just not the sound I vibe with that much as it can become stale quick. Luckily the next DMX song is a classic; me saying anything else about it is a waste of time. The Yung Joc track is, sound-wise, something that would usually come close to Shoulder Lean in terms of enjoyment for me but I’m happy to report I liked this. This guy is much more entertaining to listen to. The next 50 song was cool, Spider Loc ate that s---. The Trillville song is next, I liked it a lot. Easy to listen to. Went pretty hard paired with a gigantic spliff. Listening to it in that same context as I write this. The Pac and Luda tracks are both songs I’ve already heard like 200 times each and I am pleased to say that they still go hard as h---. The next song, How High II felt like the start of this tape’s Epilogue. Served as a good transitioning point into Shake Ya a---. That one was funny as f--- to me. Cracked me up lol. Unfortunately, I found Indian Flute to be a bit tedious to listen to. Maybe it’s just me not being in the right headspace for this. Didn’t really click with me at all. I’d never heard of Big Tymers and Still Fly was pretty entertaining and catchy. It did drag on a tiny bit but I didn’t mind it much cause of how the song let the beat play out, providing a great conclusion to the mix. Overall, I enjoyed this mixtape a whole lot. The concept was cool and well executed; the tape had a lot of gems from both sides. I thought everything flowed together nicely. Good balance between classic s--- and some stuff I’d never heard before. As y’all can read in the review, I had very few gripes with this. That’s why I’d like to rate Versus a 8.5/10 Mister Bigfoot put together a very great and exciting collection of songs and I thank him for putting me onto some great new music. Excited for the upcoming album round! @Justin Trudeau @AOTWClub .
Jan 5, 2026 at 2:17 AM 0 hey guys sorry been sick as h--- the last few days! Ill post an album schedule soon and itll start sunday Ill score @Bigfoot1 album on Thursday!
Jan 5, 2026 at 4:40 AM Great review brother and I have to admit that the Joc and Dro tracks are my least favs as well and i would have swapped them around if I knew i wasn't using the OG concept of the tape lolI again thank you for the great review brother.
Jan 11, 2026 at 2:00 PM JT hasn't logged in since early on Wednesday, so he never got the chance to see MM's mention lmao I'll post a temporary schedule at the bottom that JT can edit once he returns, but our start date is dependent on a few factors 1. Having an album ready. We usually have our new album picks on Sundays, so the first member (in this case @jankland based off of the last Mixtape Mania order) would have to either choose an album tonight, or have it ready for next week. If Jank feels ready, he can post his pick, or we can wait until next Sunday. 2. Factoring in the absences. Ripper requested to not be on the next lineup, so we lose 1 week. Similarly, @DiggleDogg69 said he would be taking a break due to the album bracket so he's off for this lineup too (if you're able to participate, please let me know so I can add you Diggle!) here's the temporary order: 1. @jankland 2. @Wreckless 3. @Justin Trudeau 4. @Michael Myers 5. @Yeez 6. @Jimmy Jazz 7. @Bigfoot1 @AOTWClub
