    There were some paths Drake could have taken to maneuver the focus away from the beef and smooth things over. Hip-hop would always see it as an L, but listeners are extremely distractible and those avenues were available for a time.

    At this point, he’s backed himself into a really precarious position, with only one way out — if Drake doesn’t drop a verifiably classic, extremely well-received album, his career as anything but a legacy act is over.

    Yeah his legacy is stained, and I think if he just brushed it off and just kept making hit records he would be in a better position. But the lawsuit clownery and him running to YouTubers and gamblers f----- him and made him look even more pathetic to the culture. Should’ve did what 50 did when Jada whooped him in a rap battle. 50 shook it off by just doing what he does and gloat about his riches and being bigger. The streets said 50 lost the rap battle but no one else in the world cared cuz he was still the biggest rapper. Drake’s team don’t know how to beef

    I’m hoping he pulls this off. If he’s successful, it means more great music for everyone. However, everything I’ve seen recently — from the livestreams to the lawsuits — strongly suggests that he’s fundamentally incapable of making another classic.
