The fact this actually is possible is wild, and just another tragic turn of events to our flop a--- society. We literally in a war at home and abroad. A.I. is taking all the jobs and people still too blind and in denial to look around and see why you can’t get a job let alone one that will pay comfortably. 70% of the nation living paycheck to paycheck and on loans and credit. One or 2 hospital bills, car payments, or unexpected life expenses and half the nation is f-----. Middle class is in denial thinking they are fine. Watching thier bank accounts dwindle while they have to try and get 2nd and 3rd sources of income. And if middle class suburban Americans are struggling, imagine low income and the majority of people who work 40+ hours a week and have side gigs to cover rent and insurance. Trump don’t care about Americans and never did. Rip already told y’all Gen Z don’t even care about college degrees. 30% of college grads can’t even get jobs anymore. They will have bachelors and be working at Wendy’s and Starbucks and doordashing. I know some people that went back to get thier masters and still can’t provide for thier family, cuz prices are hemorrhaging thier income.

    Holy s--- that's expensive

We had a pretty crazy increase so
e years ago -- @Minato, was that covid, do you recall? I don't remember exactly when the gasoline price hike happened it didn't last terribly long. For a few months or so we were at about $5.50/gallon. It only recently dropped back to around $2/gallon where I live, but is rising again

But I have family in Canada and I remember even 20 years ago, prices of gas there were far above what they are in the US -- almost twice as much, and in some areas, even more. My cousins said it was absolutely a deterrent to individual driving for them and there was a ton of carpooling and sharing gas costs for most purposes. That just seemed prudent to me.

The US, partly because of geography in a lot of places, lacks public transportation infrastructure. But driving your own ride is a huge aspect of life for a lot of people and gas consumption is taken for granted; our self-centered convenience culture dictates what people are willing to do. It's obscene.

China is a lot bigger than the US and has a much better rail system, so if it were prioritized it could definitely be done

I used to drive everywhere but this past year I've been settled and stay in mostly now. I think when they drive the price up even more, people are gonna start using public transport more. Insurance and Tax is already high as it is and due to the war, they'll increase those two things as well.

I'm not in London thank god lol.

Cause you're watching your heart race,
    like you're Scarface
In a car chase with the cops or an arcade
Stuck inside of a Mario Kart race,
    stuck in saw blades
At a stop and a start pace
What I'm tryin' to say is, I'm drivin' 'em all crazy

Yes it was end of 2021 to mid 2022. Prices were $5 here in the us. In Cali it reached $7, in Chicago about $5.50 peak, and most the country was $4-$5 per gallon. It was also when we had record heatwaves too. That summer was wild. Idk what it’s like in other countries, but normal gas is only $2.80-$3.80 here. Once it get to $4 we start bitching. I remember back in the 2000’s gas was always just $1.50 to $2 something. Good times

Yeah it was over $5 in Detroit. Miserable times. Summer of 2020 was such h--- that by 2021 we were gone, uprooted our life and left the city for good. It was no longer safe in the neighborhood I'd been in for 28 years.

    I've never gone back

b----, you’re nowhere near Detroit :emoji_laughing: Your gated community an hour away is an affluent suburb north of Metro Detroit.

You do not get to claim Detroit. GTFO
