IMDB ranks episode 1 a nearly perfect 10. One of the best season openers ever. d--- marsh, maybe you should shut up and wait to watch before you talk. Haha

Every critic and screener that got the season early said the season peaks at ep 4 to the finale being must see tv. Even Grace Randolph said it’s peak marvel tv, and she ain’t even a DD fan. If this is one of the weaker episodes we really are in for an all timer season. See Marvel when you make consistent quality, fans and audiences will show up. This is already performing way better than season 1. Still trending

It’s always funny when people be like “Disney keeps ruining Marvel” as if your favorite MCU movies of all time weren’t literally Disney. They own Marvel studios since 2009. They made Infinity war, Winter soldier and Guardians. Literally everything marvel you love is Disney. Even tom holland wouldn’t be who he is if the Disney partnership deal didn’t happen. Yall still be getting trash Sony produced movies. Also Kevin Fiege and Marvel studios actually are the ones who picked Tom holland personally. Not Sony casting directors, it was a Disney casting director Sarah Finn who cast all MCU characters. You can google it. Disney marvel studios is responsible for tom being a superstar, not sony. So stop it marsh.

My only major critic is that it’s still not as good of lighting as the original show. Sometimes the camera close ups like in Fisk office feel like they cut corners and made it look like season 1, but then the next shot or sequence looks fire. Honestly I just don’t care about kingpin mayor storyline still. But that’s just me. Also I wish the daredevil score was used more during his fights, sometimes it seems so quiet and you just hear punch sound effects. Those are the only 2 things I say they should work on. Overall I give first episode a 8

Sony CEO Tom Rothman on Kevin Feige: "Never Bet Against Him"

In an interview on The Town podcast, Sony CEO Tom Rothman praised the Marvel/Sony Spider-Man partnership and Kevin Feige specifically.

"There are two people about whom I would say this: never bet against Jim Cameron, okay, and never bet against Kevin Feige."

Rothman described the Marvel-Sony partnership as "great" and a true win-win. He also acknowledged what went wrong with the MCU recently and why Feige is fixing it:

"Scarcity has value. You got to make the audience miss you... absence makes the heart grow fonder."

Rothman believes Feige over-saturated the MCU during the streaming push, but is now recalibrating with fewer projects and better quality.

With Marvel's help, the MCU Spider-Man films have grossed $3.93 billion worldwide. Brand New Day (July 2026) is projected to be one of Sony's highest-earning films ever.

Despite past negotiations drama (2019 breakup, 2021 renegotiation), Sony and Marvel's relationship is currently strong.

@DiggleDogg69 they slowly bringing the Netflix era to the big screen. 10 years ago it seem a fever dream for them to be this integral to the MCU. And it is coming together

Now I think a 9.8/10 is an overreaction for the episode, but it was a d--- good season opener. People said it starts slow, and honestly if THAT was starting slow...we are in for a treat. Quite enjoyed that

Wanda being rumored to return in Doomsday April reshoots! This coming from cryptic who is pretty reliable

Also Aaron taylor Johnson quicksilver was rumored months ago to return as a variant. Ian Mckellan himself said on a talk show that his dream is to to work with Elizabeth Olsen Wanda and be her dad. Like in the comics magneto is Wanda’s father! This is the last time this can happen since Mckellan is like 90. lol
