I'm a Wayne fan - but not a stan. I'm not trying to bash the guy. I just want to offer constructive criticism. We set the standard so low for him, that passable records are now amazing.

I don't see how FWA broke the trend.
    • C3 = great but glimmers of inconsistency
    • Rebirth = bad
    • IANAHB1 = stronger effort but lyrically inferior to all the Carters
    • C4 = good-ish. some great tracks, but some merely decent tracks
    • IANAHB2 = embarassing, but God Bless Amerika was good.
    • SFTW2 = tiny step up, but still... meh.
FWA doesn't change up the trend. He can spit when he wants to, but he's really inconsistent and lazy. Glory is dope. Sharper flow, nice multis, some better one liners. But if you took the first 2 tracks away from FWA, it would be another IANAHB2. It's still an autotune/trap-beat fest.

He went from an 8/10 to a 3 to 6 to 7 to 4 to 5. This doesn't prove that Wayne is back. It just proves my point that he's inconsistent as h---.

SFTW2 = a huge step up imo. easily the best weezy mixtape since no ceilings. and there's definitely a good handful of tracks on sftw2 that rival those on nc.
i'll agree to most of the other stuff though (but admittedly, i haven't listened to ianahb1/2 in a minute now).
FWA = after listening a shitload of times now, i don't place it on a pedestal like a lot of people, but i call it a valiant effort. is it carter 2 weezy? no, but these 2 projects within the span of 6 months is pretty big for someone who people were starting to count out. if C5 is anything like it's been hyped to be (i read somwhere that weezy said tracks like 'glory' are of the norm or even below par in comparison to the majority of c5...can't confirm the source offhand), then i'm f---ing excited to hear what's in store...so long as birdman doesn't win out the case and refuse to ever release the music.

A classic too. His run from 2005-2008 was perfect. 2009 was good too, but the decline started that year.

The Carter V singles Weezy released so far were forgettable. I'm not expecting C5 to s---, but I'm expecting it to be more along the lines of Carter IV, a decent but not great album.

Wayne has horrible quality control. Instead of making 1000+ songs, he should have just made 200 really good songs. Glory is a dope track, but he's done dope tracks throughout 2009-2014. Wayne is no different now than he was in 2012 or 2013.

at first i thought the title said lil wayne isnt "BLACK"

on topic though i enjoyed FWA much more than SFTW2. Ive never been into saying someones back or not, as long as i enjoy songs that they are putting out, just keep doing what they are doing and i skip over or delete the ones i dont like
