I just love how he didn't hate Relapse until a select few complained about the accents and serial killer content. He was obviously okay with it when he put it out. I think he should've just said f--- it, and put out whatever he wanted after that. He never cared about criticism before that, so why did he care when he made Recovery? SSLP and MMLP were not THAT well received. Most critics s--- on them when they came out. He didn't start apologizing for those when he made TES. I think he also made Recovery more radio friendly because Relapse was his least successful album commercially. That's why he worked with producers that made more poppy beats and he started using that forced shouting on every track. That's also why it seems rushed, because he felt obligated to put out two albums close together because of Relapse 2 being scrapped. Then on MMLP2 he felt like he needed to change his flow and start doing that stop and go s---. I guess he felt like he needed to do something new or people would accuse him of rehashing his old albums. I feel like he's always under pressure and worried about what other people are gonna think. I know he can still rap with his normal flow because he does it just fine on Bad Guy. Then again some beats he chooses have really weird timing and it kinda forces him to rap that way. The songs Rick Rubin produced are probably the worst on the album. Rick Rubin is a legend, don't get me wrong, but I do think he threw the album off track.

    Spatula Relapse is a masterpiece

He's not fooling anyone into thinking he didn't feel like doing Relapse 2. He was forced to change it and s--- on it. I lost a little respect for him because of that. I've been listening to Relapse a lot lately, it's a masterpiece.
