Got the idea from the Chucky thread.

Will post mine soon, curious how people rank them.

Edit: I mean seperate, not together. All the Halloween movies and the Elm Street ones.

I don't like the Freddy movies after the first 3 or so and they all blend together so I'm not gonna rate them

My bad I meant seperately. If you only rank Halloween thats fine if you don't care about Elm

This. And the idea, having a new halloween related story every movie, was great.

I've needed to re watch the Freddy series for so long it's way over due. But the first rob zombie Halloween remake is number one on my list for sure after that maybe
    H20
    Halloween 1
    Halloween 2
    Halloween 5
The rest are too s-----y to remember
Also the first three child's play movies are classic as f--- bride of chucky is okay but everything after that doesn't exist.

To me, Hallowen 5 was the last installment that felt like apart of the true classic series. I feel like it was done in the same vein as part 4, just worse in every way. As opposed to 6 (which was just piss poor AND felt like a departure from the series), and the other movies being more modernized. I enjoy every movie on my list from the original down to Ressurection.

Will never understand how people can dislike the first remake. I get that it changed a lot of things about the plot and characters as well as added things but all in all it's a badass movie and it portrayed Michael as a ruthless killer. I re watched it not too long ago and it's still as good as I remembered.

I like some details and thought the new Michael look was cool and realistic as f--- and the first 20 minutes or whatever are f---ing great other than that it's a f---ing horrible horrible a--- movie and I'm sure rob zombie knows that now or even back then

    Halloween

My favorite horror movie of all time. A lot of slasher films are kind of similar in a way, but the 'Halloween' element puts it ahead of others. The movie just feels like Halloween. The jack 'o lanterns, trick or treating, costumes, all of it. Same could be said about 2007's Trick or Treat, as for Halloween, add the fact that looking through Michaels eyes is a great element, and it'd an amazing slasher movie on it's own, I absolutely love it. 10/10

    Halloween 4

I put it ahead of 2 simply because it feels like a 'new' story. Sure a lot of stuff is similar to part 1, but I think the execution is very good and again it has a great atmosphere. It also had a few great new effects like the scene with 4 Michaels. 8.5/10

    Halloween 2

It's great. But somehow it kind of drags for me. It is a direct sequel to part 1 and I honestly think it gets kinda boring after a while. It starts of great, and the ending is good too, but I prefer Halloween 4's 'new' story. 8/10

    Halloween H20

Here they completely ignore 4/5/6 and continue 20 years after part 2. I love the characters but when it comes to actual action, this movie is more dialogue compared to other Halloween movies. I love the idea of Laurie getting revenge and the execution is great. I just wished they kept the scene where Laurie saw the murders in Haddonfield on tv. It was supposed to show that Jamie was killed and Laurie runs to the bathroom throwing up. They chose to act like 4-6 never excisted though. 8/10

    Halloween 6

Again, a movie that starts with new characters, like Halloween 4. I like the return of Tommy, and Loomis is again very good. It is again heavy on Halloween traditions which I love. All of this is ruined by one element: that f---ing mark. It was clear that Michael was a soulless killer, why the f--- ruin that with a r-----ed theory like 'thorn'.? Ughh.. for that idea alone I want to put this on the bottom of my list, but I enjoy the actual movie. 7.5/10

    Halloween 3

They cut me out here. But the original idea was to have a new movie every year somehow related to the Halloween holiday. This movie was all about masks, which is, imo, a great idea. This could have resulted into many more original ideas related to Halloween. But the fans bitched about my absence, so they brought him back. The actual movie, Season Of The Witch, is very interesting. Not completely satisfied with the execution, but it has some creepy parts and the song '8 more days to halloween' is catchy af. 7/10

    Halloween (2009)

2 ways to rate this one.

As a standalone movie: pretty good. It follows the direction of explaining why Michael turned into a killer. And honestly, you kind of feel bad for him. 6.5/10

As a remake: absolutely terrible. They ruined the strong idea of Michael being a soulless killer completely. You feel sorry for him now. Also Laurie was pictured as a f---ing slut instead of an innocent girl (the scene with the donut ughhh). Loomis is not the caring man we know, altough I don't think he was that bad. 3/10

    Halloween 5

Similar to Halloween 2, this is a direct follow up to part 4. The things I love about this movie is we finally got a more human side of Michael. And, we saw his face. I hate that they got the idea of Jamie at the end of season 4 and dropped it right after. Kind of boring, but I don't mind it. 6/10

    Halloween 2 (remake)

Ugh. Loomis turned into an attention seeking, arrogant piece of s---. Laurie still a spoiled child and.. ghosts? Terrrrrrible. 3/10

    Halloween: Ressurection

The one Laurie killed was a paramedic? Lmao how could he stand up after that accident? Or get out of that body bag? Reaching, reaching to push out another sequel. Busta Rhymes was so annoying and the characters were all sex and fame obsessed, annoying teens. They just used Michael Myers for the name, they could have just make this a standalone where they visited the house of a random serial killer. f--- them. As far as I'm concerned Halloween ended after H20 and Laurie got her revenge. One thing I do love, the soundtrack 2/10

As far as soundtracks, part 2 is my favorite. Creepy as f---.

    A Nightmare On Elmstreet

Classic. A top 5 horror movie for me. The concept is great and the whole dreaming aspect is creepy as f---. Also Robert Eglund does a nice job making Freddy an icon. 9.5/10

    New Nightmare

Using the real actors for this was such an refreshing idea. The return of Heather, who is the star of this franchise along with Robert, was amazing. Executed perfectly. 9/10

    Nightmare On Elmstreet 3

After a s-----y second part, this instalment brings back Nancy. The whole taking control of your dreams is a great, new idea. 8/10

    Freddy vs Jason

This movie isn't really scary. But it is one of my favorite movies of all time. Robert Eglund is absolutely amazing in here and yeah this kinda feels like a comedy. They did such a great job connecting the 2 stories and also the idea of Jason scaring Elms to make them afraid of Freddy again (so he can return) is brilliant. Very enjoyable movie. 8/10

I have no idea how to rank the others because after 3 Freddy stopped being scaty and turned into a childish cartoon character. Except for New Nightmare of course. And fair enough, in FvsJ he also is a clown, but done in a good way, unlike 2/5/6.

He just said at a screening of 31 that either that or H2 is his best. Have to agree. About to start work so I can't really expand, but H2 has gone from one of the worst horror films I've ever seen to one of the best. Its reception is tragic.
