    7/10

Isaiah really impressed me with this album.

I pretty much agree with @Pixel - it's a very chill album; good rapping; good production etc. but it didn't seem to have a spark to take it up a notch. I also think it lost replay value with each listen

    9.25 / 10

Isaiah dropped an incredible album. Easily my favourite TDE album behind Kendrick. The production is spectacular and his lyrics and flows are on point. All of the guest verses are dope, too.

My three favourite songs would be:
    West Savannah
    Modest
    Shot You Down

its just great music with interesting views and bars, clever word play, storytelling, and nostalgic southern sounding parts, great flows, lyrics

    Standout Tracks
    webbie flow
    RIP Kevin Miller
    Modest
    Banana
    Menthol
    Brad Jordan
    Heavenly Father
    Hereditary
    West Savannah

Tbh the worst songs are still very good songs

top 5 project out of TDE imo

it's good. you can hear him sweating too much to make a traditional/canonical "hip-hop classic", but he's good enough that it still mostly works. like an infinitely more talented j cole.

As far as I can recall, I enyjoyed this tape a lot, but didn't find there anything what could increase the rate higher than 7.5. The best TDE album released in 2014.

The biggest problem with this album is the lack of standout songs. Everything is solid as f--- tho.

    Not Setbacks imo

And lol people out here thinking it has to be 8 and up to be great smh

This album is a 7/10 for me. Nothing ever went over like an 8 rating but the quality literally never dipped once. Great chill music to vibe to with a hint of old school hip hop thrown in.

Gonna update with a new album later tonight, so last chance to write blurbs @Flacko @Acid Sav @Rick C if you want your votes to be counted.

@WPG what would you rate Cilvia? I agree 9 is too high but I don't think the lower 8 range is that unfounded.

@Skippy all of schoolboy's albums have great songs on them, but none of them flow that well IMO.

7/10 albums are definitely still good.

'Shot you down' is chill af, great to listen to at night, Soliloquy needed to be longer.

There are only 2 or 3 skipable tracks on this, project lacks ambition though and Isaiah himself is like the diluted version of every member from TDE.

In response to the diluted part, I don't see any Soul or Jay Rock in him (and obv not SZA) isaiah is just to kendrick what big Sean now is to Travis, just a slightly different and definitely not as good (tho still good) version. Like the WalMart Great Value brand of Kendrick

    Rating?

    Kendrick > Isaiah > Q > Jay Rock > Ab-Soul

I like Ab-Soul on features but he doesn't really captivate me on his own.

Q has the means and talent to make great projects but for some reason they always fall a bit short. He needs help constructing/arranging his albums IMO.

Jay Rock killed it with the guest verses last year, excited to see what he comes up with for a proper debut. Follow Me Home is a decent album albeit a bit bloated.

By that, I'm thinking more a case of him being middle of the road compared to the others, sprinkle some Kendrick & Schoolboy with Ab-Soul's indie/independent sound.

Rating it as a mixtape (non-studio) and by the standards of 2014, then it's a..
