Feb 20, 2015 7.5/10 A very impressive debut. In my honest opinion, on par, if not better than Ab-Soul and Schoolboy Q's 2014 albums. He's got a grimy flow, an excellent ear for beats (Soliloquy is f---in fire) and serious lyrical talent. May be a little inaccessible to some rap fans without a big single or much variety in beat selection or changes in inflection, plus i feel he still really needs to come into his own, I feel he still has a lot more to offer than this. Excited to hear what he has to offer next, great addition to the TDE family.
Feb 20, 2015 An outstanding project, the production is fantastic & rashad compliments it effortlessly. Its a shame it didnt recieve the promotion it needed. He has so much potential, I just hope hes given the platform to expand as an artist. 8/10. TDE need to promote him as he is one of thae best mc's on the label
Feb 20, 2015 I listened to this only once so I won't do this album but I love this thread series idea
Feb 20, 2015 that's completely absurd. it's indefensible. cilvia demo is not 93% of whatever your control is, illmatic/ob4cl/whatever
Feb 20, 2015 Sxn80 rated Cilvia Demo an average of 8.1 based upon 18 ratings. [2/20/15]: Rich g--- - Tha Tour Part 1 Mentioning anyone who participated last time. Let me know if you do/don't want to be mentioned anymore: @helpmefam @Flacko @CharlieWork @Meero @Fire Squad @Mike Tyson @Five Star @Narsh @Blaza @Pixel @Tha Story @Acid Sav @Rick C @BroadStBully2 @Piiizzy @WPG @Bleed @Radeem @Skippy @Term-X @Creation @Gamba Mamba
Feb 20, 2015 Change thread title Also, haven't heard this fully and can't properly comment on this one. Keep me in the mentions tho
Feb 20, 2015 7.5 - RHQ and Thug work well together but there wasn't a wow factor - Nice beats -Especially Flava - Birdman's talking gets annoying sometimes
Feb 20, 2015 Was in the process of doing so when you posted. Yall are too fast! And now's the perfect time to listen to Tha Tour. You're missing out bud.
Feb 20, 2015 If I can rest myself away from The Day Job I might but I'm feelin' that too much rn to switch it up
Feb 20, 2015 Haven't listened to this yet and to be honest, dont know if I really want to. Never been a fan of Birdman and even though I've listened to some of Young Thug's solo stuff, I can't say I'm a fan. I understand rappers like Wayne or even Gucci but this dude makes no sense to me. He doesn't have any redeeming qualities as far as I can tell. Could someone recommend me some Young Thug that might change my mind? As for RHQ, haven't heard enough of his material to comment.
Feb 20, 2015 This tape is literally "wow factor" after "wow factor," from the variety of flows, to the production, the back and forth and effortlessness of Thugger & Quan to the switch ups in content and themes. There's a lot this tape could be criticized for but saying there is t a "wow factor" is just...idk, weird lol 9/10. Fantastic project, top 5 of last year, and one the best tapes in recent memory. Young thug is mesmerizing on his solo tracks, givenchy, keep it going, and so forth, while Quan seems to be better suited for playing off his thugger. The project also boasts some of the most creative and engaging hook making I've ever heard (Flava, Tell Em (Lies), See You, Pull Up, etc)
Feb 20, 2015 @Skippy you're gonna love Tha Tour, give it a couple listens 8/10 - Initially it was lower when I first had it on rotation months ago, but after reading a recommendation on here I gave it a more in-depth listen and I found a new appreciation for it. Infectious deliveries & flows, A1 production and catchy hooks. Edit: lol I keep forgetting this part, I nominate Oxymoron as the next album
Feb 20, 2015 @Acid Sav this is my favorite song on the project (it is one of the few songs with Birdman, but I think he adds rather than detracts):
Feb 20, 2015 A bit late on Civilia Demo but I'd give it a 7/10. Had great tracks and that spacey production that I like. Only issue I really had was that it didn't have much replay for me. Tha Tour 1 was better than I expected. Felt that the songs were either hit or miss and ended up deleting about 6-7 tracks. Imma Ride, 730, Tell Em, and Keep It Goin were my favorites. I'd give it a 6/10. On my iTunes though I added Lifestyle, Chainsaw Massacre, and Take Kare to make it a bit better.
Feb 20, 2015 8/10 - The most fun listen of 2014. They took mumbling to the whole another level, what makes them innovators in a way. On top of that, the production on this tape is terrific, therefore replay value is practically endless.
