May 30, 2016 Like a 8.5 This was one of my 2015 faves since it dropped. Not better than Piñata but it's such a different project and works so well, that just speaks to Gibbs artistry. I like the whole mood of the project, and Gibbs sinnging is actually on point (reminds me of Zro at times). Definitely a must listen from last year.
May 30, 2016 s--- was mad corny to me. That packages song had me dying at how it was trying and failing horribly to be commas pt 2. Nah i wasn't feeling this entire thing at all
May 30, 2016 Gotta write a blurb or your vote won't be counted. Doesn't have to be long, just a sentence or two. 'Corny' is probably the last word I'd ever use to describe Gibbs.
May 30, 2016 I listened to this for the first time since maybe jan or feb last week and god d--- has it got even better with age. I loved this album before, but it's a lot closer in quality to Piñata than I'd thought. Gibbs really shows his versatility here from his precise sing-song flow on 'Careless' to sounding almost out of breath rapping over a trap beat on 'Cold a--- n-----.' Though Piñata is probably the better album, I think it's safe to say Gibbs is only continuing to improve as a rapper. Bring on Bandana. 8.6/10
May 30, 2016 @RateThisAlbum since we've got so many ratings already, I'm gonna try to set up the next album tonight. Added a poll for deciding the next album, so vote as well!
May 31, 2016 Based upon 16 ratings, SXN80 gives Shadow of a Doubt an 8.3. @RateThisAlbum remember to write a blurb or your vote won't be counted. [5/31/16] Scarface - The Fix [2002]
May 31, 2016 this was the first scarface album i heard. i was so impressed and it enjoyed it so much, that i decided to check out the rest of his albums and found out that this isn't the only good album of his anyway, the album is good throughout, but my favorite track is What Can I Do with Kelly Price. it sounds like he's a preacher on that song lol, but its such an awesome track and kelly price is the perfect fit on this song. another thing i find impressive about this album is that scarface made it late in his career. generally speaking, rappers don't get better with age and they don't tend to make good albums once get they get older. but the fix is an exception to that. 8 out of 10 is my rating
May 31, 2016 Absolutely loved this album, hard time picking between this and the diary. This s--- doesnt have a single weak track. In between us is both nas and scarfaces best song imo. Id rate this 9.5/10, about as good an album can get
May 31, 2016 An out and out classic, no doubt. This was the first Scarface album I heard (back in 04/05) and since hearing this album he's steadily remained in my top 10 rappers of all time. The production is top class. The features are top class. Scarface is on his usual form, which not many rappers can compete with. 9/10
May 31, 2016 10 I really don't feel like it's hyperbole giving The Fix a perfect score. It's engaging and is arguably among his best vocal performances (although you could say the same about most of Brad's catalog). The sound of the album is somber and nostalgic; it goes hand & hand with Scarface's striking narratives. It's crazy how it featured both Nas & Jay when they were still beefing.
May 31, 2016 Can't believe I slept on this album for so long. I loved Mr. Scarface is Back when I was in high school and bumped My Block and Guess Who's Back (probably a top 25 favorite rap song) all the time, so it's strange I never checked out the full album til like 2012. I take this album in kinda the opposite way that @TimmyT does. I think it's proof that rappers can still make great (or in this case, classic) albums 10-15 years into their career (see: Jay Z's American Gangster, Big Boi's Sir Lucious Left Foot, Nas's Life is Good, Juicy J's Still Trippy, Pusha T's Darkest Before Dawn, Dr. Dre's Compton, etc.), rather than the exception to the rule. It has possibly the best Kanye beat that Kanye doesn't rap on of all time. It has Jay and Nas in prime form (and during their beef, no less, as Fire Squad mentioned)...yet, 'face is still the highlight throughout. It's undeniable proof that he's one of the greatest to ever do it. 9.3/10
May 31, 2016 The Fix is my second favorite Scarface album (after The Diary) and one of my favorite albums of all time. I'd give it a 10/10. There's not a single bad song. I feel bad for the people who haven't heard this classic yet.
May 31, 2016 Also do we acknowledge that Scarface has a nearly perfect discography yet? I've yet to hear a bad Scarface album tbh.
Jun 4, 2016 Based upon 6 ratings, SXN80 gives The Fix a 9.3. @RateThisAlbum Note: Because this is an Eminem album, I'm gonna require a few sentences at minimum for your rating to count in order to curb blind hatred/stanism. Also, if anyone tags EminemSXN I'm banning you from this thread for life. [6/4/16] Eminem - The Slim Shady LP [1999]
