Jun 9, 2016 Listening to The Massacre always brings me back to long drives in the dead of night. I love how I can feel the January and February chill through the beats and lyrics. This is probably my favorite 50 album. I'd probably give this an 8
Jun 9, 2016 The Massacre is 50 Cent's pop album. Several of the songs actually sound better than GRODT but this is where 50 Cent became less of a gangster and more of a "ladies man". I'll take you to the candy shop, bleh. I'll miss the Dr. Dre 50 Cent days because his beats were fire for him; in fact I really want to listen to that Jam Master Jay produced 50 Cent album because his lyrics were even more refined and even more lit back then. Example... 6.0/10 due to production and some lyrics.
Jun 9, 2016 7/10 Some tracks i love like In My Hood, Im Supposed To Die Tonight. I cant listen to tracks like Candy Shop or Just a Lil Bit anymore because i played the s--- out of it when the tracks first dropped lol
Jun 9, 2016 The Massacre is interesting because it was noticeably worse than GRODT, yet far better than anything he's released since. It was also worse than Game's The Documentary, which was released a month earlier. This album was the first time 50 disappointed us in any way. He was absolutely flawless from 2002 (when he signed with Shady/Aftermath and debuted on the 8 Mile Soundtrack) to 2005 (when The Massacre dropped). Honestly I think the biggest mistake with the album was not using Outta Control (the original version) as the lead single. It's a club song, just 50, with one of the best Dre beats ever. It had all the ingredients to be In Da Club 2. But instead they went with Candy Shop or whatever. Imagine if this was the lead single... Overall I'd still give the album an 8/10. By comparison I say GRODT is a 10/10, Curtis is a 6/10, and everything after that isn't even worth talking about. 50 was one of the greatest of all-time from 2002-05 but then he fell off hard and fast. I know a lot of people won't agree with me but I think the Game beef did irepreprible damage to his career. Game absolutely destroyed him, he turned 50 into "the new Ja Rule" He made it look corny to be a G-Unit fan, and 50 didn't even fight back.
Jun 9, 2016 It's a 6.5, it has some deep lows. I honestly prefer Curtis over this and that's not saying much.
Jun 9, 2016 But I'll give it to 50 for dominating with the singles. Regardless of what you rate the album it will be remembered.
Jun 9, 2016 I'd give it an 7. It's a great album, but there's some songs that could've been cut, especially near the end. Eminem ruined Gatman and Robbin.
Jun 9, 2016 Candy Shop the goat fapping material for pre-teen Joel. Some great songs on this album but it's bloated. A lot more poppier than GRODT as well. 7.1/10
Jun 9, 2016 Oh yeah I forgot about that groundbreaking piece of art. Top releases of this decade are Kanan > TPAB > MBDTF in that order
Jun 10, 2016 A couple of decent songs, but a lot of crap, and the production makes me cringe at this point. Too many songs for such an underwhelming album 5/10
