2/10. This album is awful. Lupes failed attempt of living up to the cool. Garbage production. Fake deep raps. A case of trying too hard. Rather listen to LASERS than this and that album f---ing sucks too.(This ad goes away when signing up) -

I also understand ppl are going to disagree on music quality, but some ppl (not you Boos) take this s--- too seriously...big country and WPG take s--- like this personally
By the way, I have views on what I think is good just like anyone...I just don’t think music is an easy thing to make an argument forBoos, Michael Myers and Ordinary Joel like this. -

Idk man never understood why people overrated this album so much.
Lupe is a solid MC but most of the times I found myself having trouble to enjoy most of
his projects throughout and this is no exception.
I can agree that its high moments are really good tho.

Tetsuo & Youth: 7/10
A bizzare album in every sense of the way. For one, I strongly believed the Lupe I grew up to love was gone and buried after he got caught in the crossfires of LASERS. T&Y was a very welcome return to form for one of rap's premier conceptual writers; when he has a clear, concise idea of what he wants to execute, Lupe is lethal. Moments like Murals where he intentionally piles metaphors on top of more metaphors...and adds another layer of metaphors, are where you just have to sit back and enjoy the show. My problem is, there weren't as many moments of those scattered throughout the album. Most of the time I'm nodding my head like "Ah I see what you mean" and then the rest it's like "ok, but where are we going with it?". That's been my biggest gripe of Lupe post-The Cool, where he can't really bring his point home despite all the effort/build-up to get that full circle. Nevertheless, this is still a great album and an authoritative slam on the desk to Lu's biggest skeptics.Sav Stanfield, Michael Myers and Ordinary Joel like this.(This ad goes away when signing up) -

^ but @Winter you gave Watch the Throne a 10--which suggests its as good as Blackstar lmao that's a joke---another album that has 2 rappers throughout the entire album-
anyway, lupe's first two albums we're very good and then he took a step back with Lasers and the one that came after that. however, T & Y was a bounce back album for Lupe. he went back to spitting like he did when he first came out and showed he still has something left in the tank. great album. 9 out of 10CSA, Ordinary Joel and Enez like this. -
