I've always been mixed about Travis, in some parts he's a great curator at bringing in the right people to create something thoroughly enjoyable. On other parts it bugs the hell out of me at how abysmal his rapping is, lacks purpose more often than not. Rodeo is both of those principles colliding, there are some undeniable head-nodders like Oh My/Dis Side and others where he's literally a sacrificial lamb offered to the guest who bodies him on each song (the aforementioned Oh My is very much an example of this too lol).

I can't lie, this still has some fun to it. He def addressed some of his notable weaknesses of creating and sticking with a theme like he did on Astro, but I still have to hold some of these flaws accountable on Rodeo.

Agreeing to the majority. I'm not a fan a Travis Scott to an extent. This project didn't help me in any way. Travis still sounds comotose as f--k, and features put him in the water. Also if you're gonna make multiple songs over 5 minutes, make them stand out more.

9/10. Love the atmosphere Travis created on this album. Get similar vibes to 808s from this.

Not as noteworthy of a successor to Death Certificate, but still a worthy follow up to one of the best East Coast albums. Cube gets less personal here, not sure if it's a good thing or not. Overall, it's a great project, definitely classic worthy, but not on the same level as his first albums.

My favourite album of all time. This is the album that got me i to hip-hop. I vividly remember cycling around on my paper round at the age of about 14 and a friend of mine put this on cadette for me. Nothing, and I mean that with every atom of my body, will ever beat the way track 2 comes in after the intro. "now bend over and give me 2 good coughs" ***BOOM BOOM NAHHH***

f--k Tony Yayo for trying to replicate that intro.

So many great tracks but my stand outs are When will they Shoot, Now I Gotta Wet Cha, The Predator and of course Gangsters Fairytale.

IMO, this album solidified Cube as a great story teller. Every song kept me interested and wanting more.

So this for me gets and easy 10/10. Not just for the quality of work but for the nostalgia. Ice Cube, thank you for making me a life long hip-hop fan.

And if anyone cares, I would rate AMW and DC below this. DC would be the closest butthis wins on nostalgia values.

f--k, I forgot this album had It Was a Good Day on it as well. Top 10 most iconic songs of hip-hop, period. That alone deserves this album a 10!

The most underrated Ice Cube album, obviously it’s not the first two albums, but it’s not far off. The rage that made AMW and DC so compelling is still there, the title track in particular was furious, and Ice Cube’s storytelling was as sharp as ever and he applied it to a wider range of topics than on his previous releases. The list of songs more iconic than It Was a Good Day only has like four things on it. 9/10 from me.

I think Predator is most underrated in that it’s never really mentioned alongside the first two albums when it deserves to be, but if we’re really being real, Laugh Now Cry Later is his most overlooked project

Idr remember LNCR being that good when I heard it, probably should get back into it later.

I think War & Peace gets a bad rap, especially with that War disc, but personally, it's a top 5 Cube album to me, as f--king mental that sounds (it's #5 btw, under DC, AMW, LI, and TP obviously)

Oh man what a trip this was, I haven't listened to Cube in such a long time and I'm instantly reminded of just how imperial that stranglehold he had as arguably the best rapper of the early 90's. He was already tailing off into a more relaxed environment after those two seething albums he dropped beforehand, although Cube still had some vitriol left like on intro and We Had To Tear This Motherfucker Up, both vintage Ice Cube. It's pretty well-rounded although it's sequencing did throw me off a bit, the mood switches up more times than I can count.

This is not something that should be explained to those that know, but Cube is superlative when it comes to addressing a singular topic--the angles he uses and argumentative points are still so impactful to this day. His storytelling is his other bread & butter, It Was A Good Day works because even when it comes to chilling on his ideal day, he's still got his infamous scowl the whole time, another typical day in the gutter despite being a rap megastar.
