Dec 27, 2017 Average = 5 or 5.5 indeed. Some songs are nice, others are s---. Which makes it fair. 6 means u at least have to like it more than u don't
Dec 27, 2017 I gave Revival an 8 on day 1 of listening to it bruh. I changed my mind like day 2 lmao. It had a newness glaze which lasted less than 48 hours. I give Revival a 6 now. It's bottom 3 Em albums for me.
Dec 27, 2017 Well yeah, I like about 10 songs. Like, ones I would replay. Which is part of the reason I'd have to give it a 6. But they don't work together. As an album it's poor, but I can't really give it less than 6 if I like that many songs. It just fails badly as an album and there's a lot of bland s--- on there too.
Dec 27, 2017 I kinda get what you mean. Track by track I gave the album a 6.3 but overall it's a 5 for me
Dec 27, 2017 Recovery still sucks. Spacebound, going through changes, seduction. Thats about it. Only Eminem can make an album so bad that fans start to look to his other bad albums just because they aren't as bad as his newest one.
Dec 27, 2017 I don't understand the hate for the monopoly line. I think a lot of you think he just named a random board game. I hope you all know "monopoly" is when you alone own a certain type of product and nobody can compete with you. It's not a randomly placed board game in that line. So he stands on top of his game and it's monopoly. Pretty decent line.
Dec 27, 2017 It's not about the game bro. It's about the construct. There is no craft in it, that's why it's embarrassing. Like a lot of Recovery puns, it's like the line is yet to be written. It's like "Okay I wanna say I'm on top of my game... okay I need to say I'm standing on a game or some s---, or imply that"... Then, rather than craft the wording around that thinking aka good writing... he just goes ahead and says it lmao. An example of a great pun, recently, is the Captain America line... "or be capped in America, like Steve Rogers"... that just works perfectly. Because there's no compromise to the phrasing. 'be cappedin/captain' sounds identical and the wording of 'to be capped, in' or Steve Rogers being / 'be Captain... ' is natural, as it would be, if the pun were not to exist. That's an example of good writing. There's no compromise, so there's no cringe. Recovery was like him learning in public.
Dec 27, 2017 Nothing wrong with flip-flopping bro, as long as it's your honest feeling on what you're hearing. It's like when politicians try to look cool or commendable for having the same views forever like 'look! I was consistent!, That's just r-----ed lmao. Because with that - most of us are wrong about a lot of things - a lot of the time, so to be proud of not evolving or learning new information or re-thinking things... is r-----ed. But, politicans are hella r-----s, so, fitting I guess. But yeah Revival was the biggest flip for me. It was like it just suddenly drained of life after a few more listens. The flaws amped like crazy.
Dec 27, 2017 It’s a Monopoly cause he runs the game with no competition.. he’s on top of his game. Great line
