    Recovery is a vapid sellout album more a product of label execs and focus tests than Eminem. Ye is at least interesting musically.

    Ye is also brief, Recovery is over an hour you'll never get back.

    We can rehash Eminem’s greatest public failings: the triumph fight, fack, the “duck walk” (he was a recovering addict who had broken his back lol but ok)

    He has never done anything nearly awful and shameful as calling slavery a choice, babbling about Donald trumps “dragon energy”.

    How much does this s--- REALLY matter tho? We can clown eminem forever about the things you just mentioned, but does it change how we listen to and judge the music he makes? No. It shouldn’t.

    As for Kanye, who gives a f--- what he’s got to say? If anything I respect him more for saying what be beleives. Anybody who got upset over his slavery or trump comments is a fragile fa----. If it wasn’t for modern mainstream liberal media, Kanye would be more internationally recognised for the genius and free spirit he is, rather than some sort of “arrogant a------” which is what they make him out to be.

    look as far as making a valid argument for htis goes I can't really because i think both albums are meh. but the fact kanye literally changed his album/art because it was too controversial just says to me recovery is the better album. Like if this is your argument you may as well subtract all of kanye's points for bitching it.

    It's an unusual comparison although in some context I can see why it's made. YE is likely Kanye's weakest effort but it's far more engaging to listen to than Eminem's poorly written but heartfelt diaristic raps on Recovery.

    Nah I disagree w a lot of this for the reasons I already typed out to big c----. I will say this: Kanye isn’t “saying what he believes.” He’s clearly an impressionable moron spouting s--- he doesn’t understand in order to stir the pot. Glaringly shallow grasp of reality, politics, whatever. Especially as a black man, his comments are particularly disarming and treacherous. Dunno if ur trolling in ur take there, but it’s not right lol

    Here’s the thing, which I’ve said elsewhere: this forum especially has a gag reflex to automatically rank Kanye output over eminem. For awhile, totally valid and I get it. My recovery v ye question is —— ok, the waters have muddied a bit.

    At what point is a modern eminem album on par w whatever Kanye is doing.

    Ye might be the most forgettable album of all-time. Not very good. Not horrible. But painfully average and completely forgettable. I can't ever see myself revisiting this.


    Edit- If I'm not being objective and I'm judging the music by Kanye's past work Ye is f---ing terrible.

    Imagine caring and getting upset over another mans opinions lol. It really is faggy behaviour imo. Not trolling at all. And I really doubt he’s “stiring the pot” that’s not his thing imo. That wouldn’t make sense considering half the s--- he says only afftects himself. He speaks without thinking sometimes but who cares. I really don’t know why we’re discussing his views in the first place. Like, I’m here to judge his music, who gives a f--- what he says.
