Jul 19, 2017 The problem is a lot of stans, fans and disillusioned fans itt only like his music when he is doing one very specific thing that *they* like. Everything else is "trash". There's nothing wrong with HTS as a joint basically EP. Some dope songs and nice to hear him go back n forth trading bars with another mc. I appreciated the change of pace. MMLP2 is a really good album objectively speaking. There's a lot of interesting content (especially if you're a casual fan) Some good production, just very mainstream sounding. I really liked Shady 15. I liked how f---ing dark it was, especially after MMLP2 (which like I said, seemed like it was made to appeal to worldwide Eminem fans in Brazil or Poland or whatever.) You could even hear it in the way he used his voice in a lot of the records. And also, Vegas and Fine Line, so...
Jul 19, 2017 I agree, Relapse and Recovery are great to me, MMLP2 have some great songs but over all this album is just average edit. oh I didn't read the op, Encore an 8/10?
Jul 19, 2017 Recovery is an excellent album and the only song I don't really like that much is untitled
Jul 19, 2017 Quick run down of things wrong with this post: -"Recovery is an excellent album", this is factually incorrect. There are numerous flaws and examples of lack of artistic integrity on Recovery. -"only song I don't like that much is untitled", horrible taste considering Untitled is one of the best songs on the album. sad -ShadyXV avy, that project blows big ones
Jul 19, 2017 Recovery was supposed to be sober Eminem being mature and it just became him being a hypocrite and doing pop songs that he told his fans were s--- when he was popping. It betrayed his core fanbase and it's sonically one of his worst albums due to outdated production. I mean I f--- with it but it's not his magnum opus bruh, that'll go to the Eminem Show.
Jul 19, 2017 People on this forum think eminem should do a album that has rock, 90s funk, some non-sense futuristic s--- or some 90s hip hop type of sound but it's really not what eminem style is except for the rock, eminem has always be loyal to the youth and thats what recovery is about P.s do not agree that encore is a 8/10 tho
Jul 19, 2017 Recovery is where he should have retired. A few Uber corny puns aside, it was an incredible album imo.
Jul 19, 2017 I realize how not special Em's post encore run is and how he hasn't done anything good since mmlp2
Jul 19, 2017 MMLP2 has more replay value to me, as does Relapse, so its kind of sandwiched between two albums I revisit more often and thus kind of forget about, but I have good memories associated with Recovery so its not really that bad. Agree with OP on Shady Records forever flopping on PR and marketing. SH is just D12 all over again, that third album never coming and no one even cares. Yelawolf is making better music now but isn't getting that 2011 type of promotion. He kind of carved out his own fanbase, which is good. XV and HtS are alright. Nothing to write home about but they have some good points. At best this post is a gross oversimplification and at worst flat out wrong and ignorant. idk
Jul 19, 2017 Recovery isn't a perfect album by any means. There are a lot of tracks i would have gotten rid of. With that being said, i always though it was a good album. It's without a doubt the most motivated and focused he's been post hiatus and you can tell by listening to it.
