Feb 17, 2017 I still like MMLP sometimes, but I can't think of an album that's aged worse. I mean I go back and listen to it and just wonder how or why people thought it was so edgy and cool to try to cause controversy by saying f-- and talking about raping his mom. Plus dissing pop stars and having other out dated pop culture references doesn't exactly add to replay value.
Feb 17, 2017 It's certainly better than his recent work, so I'd label it as one of the best album since his comeback, but not one of the best overall. Production wise it is one of his best. Flow, delivery, lyricism all on point and makes current Em look like a newbie. Overall disappointment is the serial killer theme and the voice.
Feb 17, 2017 Yeah I don't hate it or anything, just won't listen to it much if at all. But I still like stan, b---- please 2 and maybe marshall mathers and and the way i am.
Feb 17, 2017 Its some of his best flow and most creative work ever minus a few outliers like We made you and 3am I think its one of his best projects
Feb 17, 2017 It does have some redeemable qualities with production & despite some weird voices Eminem flows better & sounds better. The mixing is far superior to Recovery & MMLP2. But the content lets it down badly. A mixture of Recovery content & Relapse production, mixing would have a very good album.
Feb 17, 2017 Now that I think about it, if you cut off Insane, My Mom, Medicine Ball, We Made You, Underground and the skits, it genuinely has the potential to be a pretty commendable album. Sure, the lyrics are not good lol, but the production is remarkable and the flow has aged surprisingly well. Some songs actually have a dim Three 6 Mafia type of semblance. It's cool, I can listen to it.
Feb 17, 2017 Okay I admit I'm an Em fan (just won't s--- him off like you guys in this section), but this statement is so false that it's criminal. I couldn't give a f--- less about an eminem album nowadays. There's too much GOOD music dropping.
Feb 17, 2017 I don't s--- Em off either, but there aren't any truly great albums that have come out lately. Classic is criminally overused
Feb 17, 2017 Relapse would be 5/5 if you replaced the 5 worst songs on the original CD with all of Relapse refill and added My Darling/CWYWF to the end
Feb 17, 2017 True its realslim shady stuff funny and lyrical with classics like deja vu and beautiful also featured dre and 50. What a album not that trash MMLP 2 that featured rihanna and skylar f--- happened since 2009
Feb 17, 2017 Between migos, future, young thug, lil Wayne, Run the jewels, frank ocean,Vince staples, Gucci mane, and so on.... you're saying there's no great releases? Cmon dude
Feb 17, 2017 There have been classics and plenty albums I love. There are also lots of great releases. Summertime 06 is one of my favorite albums. Kendrick is 3/3, with 2 classics. Kanye had MBDTF and I liked Yeezus and TLOP. Mac Miller has a pretty solid collection. Compton was a classic IMO. ALLA is a album I listen to a lot and young thug just released one of the greatest music videos in the 2010's. Q has 2 pretty great albums. I loved The Documentary 2 and 2.5. Lil Wayne has dropped plenty of great albums. Nothing Was the Same was a very solid album. Im also currently giving Future's discography a run through. I just think its ridiculous to say that, for example, Culture or Everybody's Looking, are anywhere near as good as Ready to Die, Illmatic (Im not a Nas fan but I cant deny its a classic), MMLP, Straight Outta Compton, the low end theory. I also think its crazy say Migos and Young Thug and Lil Wayne in the same sentence. I am guilty of this, but I see people posting "Classic" on an album that hasn't even dropped. When I said "Truly Great Albums" I meant albums that are classic and that were groundbreaking in some form. If you honestly think that an album like Culture or Future are classics or that Thug and Migos are on the same level as Biggie and Dre then you're blind to the world
