Remark's Top 10 Rap albums of all time

Welcome to Remark's Top 10 albums of all time, this was comprised of all my favorite albums over the years and I'm gonna be honest, alot of them are from the 90's. Also expect to see multiple albums from the same artist because I'm weird like that. If you don't agree with my opinions then I don't know what to tell you because there my opinions. Shoutout to @Koolo for the idea.

10. Nas - Illmatic

Illmatic is one of my favorite NY albums, with all eleven tracks being very replayable allowing the entire album to be an easy listen from front to back. It's a very rare occurrence to see someone really tell you where they came from in the way that Nas did it. It felt like you really understood where he was coming from. The reason why this album is so high on my list though is because while I love it, it's not something I go back to and listen to a lot. It's sort of like a fine wine you back to every once and a while to listen too. Also I have a favorite Nas album.

9. Jeru The Damaja - Sun Rises In The East

The Sun Rises in the East is just an amazing album to me man. It has some of the best DJ Premier beats you can hear and the content that Jeru is talking about was something that wasn't touched upon back in 1994. He really through it back to the African s---, talking about the early times of the slaves and things of that nature. He just kept it real and he was honest with himself when it came to say that he wasn't some gangbanger, he was just a man trying to get his. All the songs on here with my favorite probably being Jungle Music (the drums on that song are crazy). If you haven't heard this album yet you should listen to it.

8. Redman - Whut? Thee Album

One of my favorite Redman albums, not my favorite but one of my favorite. It just has that crazy funk feel to it that you just don't hear a lot and combined with Redman's "Hardcore" lyrics it makes the album one of a kind. One of my favorite tracks that really displays what I'm talking about is Tonight's Da Night which has this sort of mellow Jazz-like beat with Redman on it like "Mic check, I walk around the streets, with a black tec nine, By the waistline, kickin the hype s---" which is the type of s--- your going to hear on this album and that's why I love. It's produced by Erick Sermon and has that EPMD feel so if you f--- with EPMD you'll f--- with this album.

7. Jay-Z - Reasonable Doubt

This is probably one of my favorite Jay-Z albums just because of the overall sound of it. In my honest opinion, Jay-Z hasn't released an album with the same atmosphere of this album. I would say the closest would be American Gangster. Just the beats, to the rhymes, to just about everything on this album makes me love it. Has some of my favorite Jay-Z songs on this album and it's something I still go back and listen to till this day similar to Illmatic and all the albums on this top 10. My favorite song of this album would probably have to be Regrets because it gives you that feeling of vulnerability that Jay-Z just hasn't done again in my opinion. 6. Earl Sweatshirt - I Don't Like s---, I Don't Go Outside

My first album in the 2010's included on here. This album did a lot for me especially while I was going through a huge depression around the time this album dropped. It kind of helped me get through what I was going through at the time which is why it got the spot it did on my top 10. It was defining to me as a person and not a lot of albums have done that for me. It also helps that it has some of Earl's best line's and overall great beats on this project. One of my favorite tracks off this project has to be Wool surprisingly because just having Earl and Vince on a track spitting just does it for me. 5. Method Man - Tical

This album overall just is one of my favorite solo Wu-Tang albums next to another album I'll mention later on in the top 10. This album continued that raw Wu-Tang sound from 36 Chambers but sort of had Method Man's spin to it. Lyrically m--- was at his best on his album and still has some of my favorite songs from him. This album constantly gets spins from me on the daily and I really mean that. It's in a good amount of my playlists. One of my favorite songs off the album is probably What the Blood Clot. Something about that song just does it for me. If you haven't listened to this album or just haven't listened to it in a while, you should throw it on tonight.

4. Redman - Dare Iz A Darkside

I said artists may appear twice and Redman is one of those artist. Whut? Thee Album was great but this album just is leaps and bounds past it. The beats to the flows and everything is just out of this world. There was nothing like it in 94' and there still is nothing like it now. This album is twisted as f--- with these flipped funk and jazz samples that sound dark as h--- with the overall theme of the album being in h--- and beyond. It feels like your going through smudgy, mud and s--- when you listen to this album. One of my favorite songs off the album is Green Island, it has some of the craziest flows Redman has ever done and is just 5 minutes of straight spittin' man. 3. Busta Rhymes - The Coming

The Coming is just another one of those albums I can listen from front to back without skipping any tracks. It has that raw feel I love in albums that makes it amazing and it has some of my favorite Busta tracks all on one album. This is honestly Busta's best album bar none. The unique flows to the rhymes matched with those barebone beats to give him the space to go wild on just makes this album one of kind which is why I love it. My favorite track off of here has to be Everything Remains Raw, its just Busta going on for like a good three or four minutes over that classic Easy Moe Bee beat. Just ain't nothing like it.

2. MF Doom - Operation: Doomsday

I have really no words for this album. It's just a f---ing great album and if you haven't heard it yet then you missed out on a classic and you need to educate yourself immediately. My favorite song off this album has to be Rhymes Like Dimes, I just f---ing love that song.

1. Old Dirty b------ - Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version

Man, this album is so one of kind it's crazy. We will never have another rapper like Ol' Dirty b------ which in turn means we will never have an album like Return to the 36 Chambers. This album is so special to me man, this is one of the first albums I bought which I bought on cassette because I didn't have a CD player yet and played this tape so much that it ended up breaking on me. The way ODB raps on this album is just some on some out of the world s--- and all the beats fit him so well to the point I can't listen to anyone else on these beats. There is literally no bad track on this album, with all the other albums on this top 10 there may be one track on them I may skip sometimes but with this album there is no bad track. I HAVE to listen this album front to back everytime I just play one track off of here because I love it so much man. All the tracks on here are my favorite but if I were to pick a favorite it would have to be Brooklyn Zoo, just due to how much it sounds like it was recorded in the f---ing gutter. Please listen to this album man.

Kendrick gotta wait a little bit to get in top 10 and 2pac albums have never been that great to me. Enjoy more of his single songs that actual albums

I can understand why people don't f--- with him or that album but it just did a lot for me at the time of it's release. Call it a reaction effect I guess.
