Criminals are going to get their hands on guns no matter what, a guy who wants to k--- a man isn't going to be deterred because his preferred method is illegal, he's clearly wanting to break the law as is

What is better to do and is implemented well in States like Texas is letting any rational qualified adult have a gun, because then if there is trouble, you can defend yourself and be evenly matched with the criminal. Gun regulation is awful and only considered by sheltered people who don't know what crime is like.
