Yes it is because a lot of people like to pretend the album has no redeemable songs, when it has arguably 3 classics.

You flip flopped. I didn't. I stick to my guns. And I believe you are wrong. Lots of great songs on Revival, you even said so yourself.

Arguably more than 3 classics but the problem is they won't be perceived as classics because people's expectations are too high.

Mate who gives a f--- about 'flip flopping'? There's nothing wrong with changing your opinion. And with an album... that's extremely normal. Hence the phrase ''slept on'' because some albums, the opposite, people dislike when they first hear, then the album becomes great to them over time. Revival was the opposite for me, very quickly. After just a day or two of listening.

There's nothing noble in just keeping the same opinion forever, it doesn't make your opinion more valid because you still like it now... the same as you did when you first hear it. So what? Lol, that's fkn meaningless.

"You used to think the world was flat. Now you think it's round. You flip-flopped. I didn't, I stuck to my guns"... Lol?? There's nothing good or commendable about just keeping the same view. Not that there's anything wrong with it, taste wise, but I don't know why you're pointing that out, like it makes your taste more valid.

    The album is bad.

Some good songs, yes. But as an album, as a construct, as one piece? It's bad.

Just like if you had a movie which was compiled of great individual scenes but the story made no sense and you had totally conflicting tones scene after scene - like a silly comedy scene right after a murder scene, followed by a foreign speaking romantic scene... you would be like WTF IS THIS? It would make no sense. And be a terrible movie. But each individual scene could still be great by itself.

You are pretty obsessed with a cohesive album. As far as I know, most albums are not. This isn't a movie, it's a collection of songs. Remember, Eminem said he wants something for everyone. You are putting too much emphasis on collective songs.

I am obsessed with that yeah. That's probably the biggest element of what makes an album good to me.

If the songs don't sound like they were made for the same thing, in some way, then it falls apart.

That's the issue with MMLP2 and Revival, even if not everybody knows that's their issue with it - that's why people rate those albums 6/10 or less. Because the experience is not consistent. You can't have shouty piano music vs. stadium rap rock vs. trap s--- vs. horrocore... it just sounds ridiculous. You wouldn't say a greatest hits CD is as good as a GOAT album. Why? Because there's no format to the experience - it's just a collection of songs. An album is not a movie, but it should be AN ALBUM. An album should not be 'a collection of random songs'.

I know what he said. And it's wack as f---. Trying to create something for everybody, as an artist, is one of the wackest things I have ever heard. It's like the antithesis of great art. It's the complete opposite of his best work or any great artist's work I know of. Because know what that = ? COMPROMISE.

An artist should make something THEY think is amazing. Uncompromised. Then, whoever likes it likes it. Whoeever doesn't... Cool. Get new fans, lose some, who gives a f---. He's turned into a customer service rep. It's very sad.

The album isn't good is the main problem. Ive heard of artist doing much worse idea's than creating an album for everybody.

Also can u please stop acting like a wigger. You make some good points as times but this wigger talk is weird.

Well the thing is, he's turned into a customer service rap according to you, but it's not selling well. So lots of people didn't like it.

What if he wanted to make something with lots of different songs? What if that was his true wish from his heart?

You had songs like Framed and Offended that sounded more like the Old Shady. He had 3 really good songs at the end that sounded similar to the songs he's made about Halie in the past. I liked them. He had political songs. He had one song in Chloraseptic that sounded like modern rap. He had love songs. He had songs about having sex with girls. He rapped about Kim a lot.

What if that is who Eminem is and it was the only way to make an uncompromised album?

How dare all of you turn your back on Marshall. You should be praising him. He will never let you live it down.

Revival is a good album but y’all will hate on it no matter what. One guy only listened to 3 songs and hated the album. You realize that Eminem’s fan base has changed more than Eminem? If he did his old s--- you would just say that you’re tired of it. You do not know what you want. You want old eminem but you don’t want it to sound old, which is a contradiction and you know it’s true.

this is without a doubt undoubtedly his 4th best album.

I kinda like that nobody likes this album. It reminds me back in 99 when only hardcore rap fans knew him.

Totally. What ticks me off is the accusation toward people who like it, that we are just mindless stans. Like people can't just have different opinions. I love a bunch of songs on Revival but there's a lot Eminem has done starting in 2014 that's been pretty weak . I didn't like any of his guest spots in 2016, his ciphers have been just okay in terms of the rapping, there were bad songs on Shady XV. But I think Revival is good, I give it a B. Favorite songs are Framed, Heat, Chloroseptic and Need Me. I agree tho with the person who said Em started this by saying he was unsure of himself in his first single. That was not a smart move.

The cohesion in Revival is the theme. The styles of the songs are different but with one or two exceptions, like Framed, they're about coming back from near death. Near death of hope for the country, near death of Kim (who attempted suicide two years ago), near death of Eminem, near death of Eminem's belief in himself.
