Dec 18, 2017 I do, but I haven't listened to it that much tbh, I usually skip it. Because I don't really like the hook or how pop it feels, it feels so light... Although, it actually works well after "Like Home", so I could live with that song too. Major issue for me is just how 'samey' that section of the album sounds, it feels like 100 songs in a row with spacey hooks and pop-rock production, just like a blur of Recovery-esque s---, then Heat & Offended pop-up, then the completely pointless Need Me... The placement on those few songs of going from Nowhere Fast to Heat to Offended then to Need Me? That's so bad. They don't go together. Also Framed sandwhiched between Tragic Endings and Nowhere Fast? Bizarre.
Dec 18, 2017 Of course. None of the songs are truly bad. But it's another MMLP2 situation. A clash of vibes and abysmal placement. Bad Husband & Tragic Endings... then into Framed?? Then back to Nowhere Fast? It's just bizarre. But that's what happens when you compromise and try to make something for everyone. You end up with a muddled, confused result.
Dec 18, 2017 EminemBase, I like your idea of this 11 track album, but no Eminem fan is used to an 11 track album. Now if he had a bonus disc with an extra 6 or 7 songs, maybe. Or if it was a fact that he was coming out with another album a year later, then maybe. But I would have been disappointed with 10 songs only. You ever burn your own disc with songs in the order you want? How about throw in Bad Husband and Framed. I still think they can fit in. The Real Slim Shady and Stan sound different than the rest of MMLP. Throw those songs in, add a couple of skits that go with the theme. And a bonus disc or a deluxe edition and I'm fine.
Dec 18, 2017 Nah I honestly didn't, lol. I just don't care for the sound. I'm so sick of that format and that song feels particularly formulaic. And when I'm on my 2nd, 3rd, 4th listens of the album... I'm just done with that kind of sound already by Bad Husbands even, so I skip to Heat.
Dec 18, 2017 Well let me tell you something. When I heard tracks 2 and 3 on this album, I was so blown away. Driving down the freeway and it was an amazing feeling. But then he switched it up in the middle and I'm hearing all these rock songs and I'm asking myself why did he do this. Why did he change direction? Now it sounds like I'm listening to a different album. But then it picked up again, especially after I listened the 2nd time. As far as MMLP 2, was there any way he could have rearranged that album to make it cohesive?
Dec 18, 2017 MMLP2 would've been great if it was shorter and Deluxe tracks included. i see what you are trying to do but at the end of the day Em is deaf. No point in adjusting track lists to make stuff appear "Great". It sounds lazy and dated, not dissing people who love the album, it has some sure great tracks on it. MMLP2 although disappointing had around 10 tracks I f--- with, you could hear from the adlibs, to everything else he actually spent time working on that album. That album he f----- up by compromising (and naming the album), it was his best shot at dropping a classic. Revival is a f---ing pure mess, the roll out was a f---ing confusing mess and the content was a mess. Outside Believe/Chloraseptic the best songs on the album should've either been on Recovery or Relapse. He did nothing new except the first few tracks. s-----y samples, horrific hooks(Whether it was him f---ing them up on Believe or Offended, or listening to Skylar/Pink etc), no beats stood out either. It seriously felt like he rushed this entire album. I gave it a 6/10 mainly because there is about 5 or 6 tracks that are 8/10+ for me. The rest are trash. Shady XV was garbage (Outside Fine Line and Guts over Fear), he has been horrid from 2014 on wards. No point constantly making excuses that he is compromising etc, he has been compromising for 3 albums straight, even threw in Lighters to ruin what was his last good project (h--- the sequel, yes I know royce asked for it). No one wants to hear this s--- in 2017, that is why he is doing numbers that Kendrick, Drake and J Cole would be disappointed with.
Dec 18, 2017 Same, it was what I wanted to hear from him, it was fresh, new and different. Everything else is just poor sonically sounding music or formulas he has done a million times. Even if the album ends strongly it is still a massive disappointment. My expectations were super low for this but he didn't even meet those.
Dec 18, 2017 Well I don't agree with a lot of what you said, though will have to agree to disagree. But anyways, if they don't want to hear this in 2017, what is it that they want to hear from Eminem?
Dec 18, 2017 Well maybe it's because you expected more than I did. I thought the whole album would be him conceding in defeat like in WOW. So I actually did like the album. The middle has a lot of filler songs, but I don't hate any of them. He actually exceeded my expectations, but in the end I felt this album could have been classic because he was on point at times.
Dec 18, 2017 You know EmBase, you're right. Those 11 tracks actually fit. It's just that I would be disappointed with an 11 track album. What would his justification be?
Dec 18, 2017 you have included all the terrible songs on the album lol. Nowhere Fast & Bad Husband are both very good songs. I have been critical of the Pop/rap songs Eminem has been doing. But on Revival they were all at least good except fpr Need Me. Its songs like Offended,Heat,Untouchable, & Remind Me whick let the album down badly.
Dec 18, 2017 Might sound I'm ranting, mainly annoyed because I genuinely believe his writing is still good. What do they want to hear? Well, what are the likes of Kendrick doing? He's making good music without being lazy with throwing generic people on hooks. He's crafting an album with modern beats that people love, he's making sure there is some continuation/cohesion in his albums. Em's music just isn't enjoyable anymore, look at Drake, Drakes writing is atrocious but his beat selection and melodies are on point I don't think this is that ridiculously difficult. Believe would've been a 10/10 track for me, good Em beat, good rapping/flow, but that hook it kills the song. He's not doing anything new for the most part of this album, this is all give or take the same s---. Is it that much to ask for modern beats from a handful of producers and some assistance coaching executing his hooks. His issues are things that are very fixable, it's not like he writes poorly or can't paint pictures in your head. He literally can't make a good sounding song its Miss, Miss, Hit, Miss Miss. From 2010-2013 it was hit and miss.
Dec 18, 2017 My ideal tracklist would be. 1 Walk on Water - with drums similar to EMA's performance 2 Believe 3 River 4 Revival (interlude) - Make it a full song 5 Like Home 6 Bad Husband 7 Tragic Endings 8 Nowhere Fast 9 In Your Head 10 Castle 11 Arose I like Framed but it wouldn't fit in this album.
Dec 18, 2017 @Koolo emimem and ed sheeran have the "alarmschijf" on the biggest dutch radio station this week Which means its this weeks hottest track and will be played like every hour of the day Em won, a lot of exposure for this song.. gonna be huge here
Dec 18, 2017 Since everyone is doing it for Revival, I just thought what a classic MMLP2 would have been if he named it differently and had only these tracks in the specified order: Bad Guy Parking Lot Rhyme or Reason Groundhog Day Brainless Love Game Rap God Legacy Headlights Monster Baby Wicked Ways Don't Front Evil Twin
