Patricia Sue Summitt was an American college basketball head coach who achieved the most wins in NCAA basketball history of any coach, male or female

Pat summitt, who built the University of Tennessee's Lady Volunteers into a perennial power on the way to becoming the winningest coach in the history of major college basketball, died Tuesday.

Her death came five years after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. She was 64.

Summitt battled the disease with "fierce determination just as she did with every opponent she ever faced," her son, Tyler Summitt, said.

All her players that finished their eligibility graduated. All of them. Over a 38 year coach career. That's a stat that more impressive than her wins tbh. She was more than a coach in the sport and while I'm not a woman's basketball watcher, I have to respect everything that woman did for her players on and off the court.

    RIP
