Mar 21, 2016 So, let me get this right. Royce says Drake has a ghostwriter. Then they say that Drake ghostwrote for Dr.Dre in 2007 (I think that was the year). So who the f--- is ghostwriting who, when and where?
Mar 21, 2016 For some reason people don't know the difference between a writer and ghostwriter Pretty sure it doesn't qualify as a ghostwriter if you're crediting the writer
Mar 21, 2016 More than likely I am steering away from the main idea of the topic here. You guys are just talking about uncovered info that Royce says Drake can't write and people think he can. (which seems to be a bit of a shocker) I was just trying to figure out which is true and which isn't. How can Drake not be able to write but yet can write for Dr. Dre? (Assuming he completed songs lyrically for Dre in 2007) To me 2 + 2 isn't adding to 4.
Mar 21, 2016 Drake can obviously write. He's written a few songs for other artists. Royce's point is can he be considered a lyricist if he got help. It all depends on how much 'help' Quentin gave Drake.
Mar 21, 2016 Some people who write still get help from others. For example, Kendrick Lamar helped Kanye on all day but that doesn't mean he can't write The line gets blurred at HOW MUCH help they get. Like if Quentin did 80% of the song, it'd be a lot different than if he helped with a few lines or flows
Mar 21, 2016 yea pretty much this, was gonna make a post saying its not surprising that this comment came from a ghost writer/lyricist himself aswell in nickel
Mar 21, 2016 one major turn off for me is how Drake constantly in his songs will end his lines with the same word / sound or repeats the same line over and over. It's so lazy
Mar 21, 2016 i look at Drake differently after he got exposed, not taking anything away from him musically but he's not what he's claimed to be. he's far from the greatest.
Mar 21, 2016 If drake has someone who literally goes and hands him what to say and maybe how to flow on it then no he cannot be in that conversation about lyricist period
Mar 21, 2016 Drake a amazing lyricist? Nah. Is he a good entertainer yes very much so. I enjoy a lot of Drake but I can never really say he can spit. In the end though, who really cares? Just take it as it is.
