The Run-D.M.C. Brand has sued Walmart, Amazon,, and other retailers for trademark infringement, TMZ reports. The brand and owner Darryl “D.M.C.” McDaniels allege that the companies are “advertising, selling, manufacturing, promoting and distributing multiple products claiming to be Run-D.M.C. styled products,” according to the complaint obtained by Pitchfork.

They assert that the companies are attempting to “confuse the public as to the source of the products,” and “[trade] on the goodwill” of Run-D.M.C. with items that use the group’s logo. The infringing goods include glasses, hats, t-shirts, patches, and wallets. The D.M.C. brand is asking for $50 million in damages, as well as “any other relief this Court deems just and equitable.”

In addition to Walmart, Amazon, and Jet, D.M.C. and McDaniels name in the lawsuit Vision World, Inc., Infinity Fashion, Inc., SW Global Corp., and 20 anonymous companies that partner with the big three retailers to sell infringing products.

Pitchfork has reached out to Amazon and Walmart for comment.
