Ive been training, getting ready for the college pre-season. Ive only been running the one-mile and two-mile.
Target time for the one-mile: Under 6 min
Target time for the two-mile: Under 12 min
Been training for about a month. When i first started, my one-mile time was around 8:15. Two days ago i ran a 6:15. I got 4 weeks until pre-season. Im hopeful that I'll get there. I still have to work on my two-mile time. Im not a good long distance runner.
Also I got to start doing 300 yard sprints in under 60 seconds. Haven't tried that yet, but I think i can do it.Ordinary Joel, Nori, Loyalty and 1 other person like this. -

Glad to hear your race went well! It looks like it was fun. You still beat my times when you were hurt
Didn't know you were so young, I always kinda thought you were around my age haha
Nice run! Keep it up. That's a good pace for not running in a while

Man i hadnt been able to go on my run til today. I took a route with a couple hills and a small bridge which ended up being a mistake cus I was dying goin uphill on that last bridge. Wanted to do 3 miles but ended up gettin a pain on my left knee when I hit the 2 mile mark. Never had that before, hope it's no biggie. Anyways these were the results

I was content except for the knee thing. I was hoping I wasnt over 10 min/mi pace so I was happy with that. Still have some work to do tho. Imma set a goal to get down to an 8 min flat pace by my bday aug. 29th

That was an interesting read! That still ends up being a lot of running, and obviously it's much better than if you were not exercising at all. I played soccer as a kid but was never any good, although it does look fun to play.
Good luck!
Definitely post your results etc.

Being sick is the worst! I hate being so unable to move or run or anything. Glad you're feeling a little better at least. 4 days til the race!
At least you're running! 2 miles is all I've been doing too. It's too hot.Final, Methods, Ordinary Joel and 1 other person like this. -

Imma hit the gym today, but ill put in a couple of miles tomorrow.
I've been doing more biking and light jogging here and there for cardio on non-gym days so I'm curious how close to my prime running shape I'm in.
Ill track and post the results up here, hoping I havent slowed down too much.Final, Ordinary Joel, Loyalty and 1 other person like this. -

That's great that you do soccer and workout though, I'm sure you run several miles playing soccer?
Nice! There are lots of free apps that track walks/runs that use your phone's GPS to track them. Here's one for iPhones, I'm sure there are plenty for Android etc.Final, Ordinary Joel, Nori and 1 other person like this. -

This does remind me I need to get back in the habit of this one of these days. Used to love those mile - 2mile runs during weekend mornings when I didn't have soccer practice or work. College came and soccer practices/gym workouts got way more intense so I felt drained as h--- to even try doing them in like 3 years.Final, Ordinary Joel, FlawlessT and 1 other person like this. -

Tried to wake up at 5am to go on a run before it got too hot but I was too tired. Too many beers last night I guess. Woke up at 6 and ran 2 miles but it was already so hot.
Better pace than my last 2 mile run and much more consistent - 8:41 and 8:50. I ran hard the whole time and almost threw up at the end though since it was already like 90 out.

That's terrible, they really should s--- it up and just pay to have it lit up the entire night.

Just got back from taking my dogs out for a short lap. Kind of weary though as only last month some lady nearly got snatched from my route while she was out running.
It pisses me off though, the oval/park is used by a lot of people for exercise and activities but is very poorly lit and even then, the city turns the lights off between 8 - 9.Final, Ordinary Joel, Nori and 1 other person like this. -

I used to run a lot in high school until my foot gave out, plantar fascitiis :/ bit of a nightmare
Best distance was 5k, was okay at 1500m and 3k as well as XC, any longer my legs and feet would hurt too much.Last edited: Jun 29, 2015Final, Nori, Mimi and 1 other person like this. -

I guess I worded it wrong - it wasn't really an overnight hike. We hiked 7 miles one day, pitched a tent and hung out, and then hiked 7 miles back in the morning. I think an overnight hike would be kinda scary haha.
Hopefully you can find a good spot to hike! It can be fun but I prefer running. We had to carry 35 lb. backpacks the whole time we hiked
That looks like a great run! Good luck on that 5K, looking forward to seeing how you do. You're my motivation to keep running since my marathon training ended.
It was great! But pretty intense, I'd probably only wanna do something like that once a year.
I finally ran again today, but made the mistake of trying to fit it in right before I had to be at work.. around 8am. It was already in the lower 90s outside. I planned to run hard for just 2 miles, but after about a half mile I couldn't do it in the heat. I ended up running/walking the last 1.5 miles. I guess I have to run earlier from now on. Happy with the first mile at least!

@Loyalty that's a beautiful picture, looks like Jurassic World a little. You didn't get scared during the overnight part of the hike? Looks awesome nonetheless, we don't have too many places like that in NY but I know there's a few in other states nearby. You're really making me wanna go hike now lol.
So I went for another outside run yesterday and started to get really sore. It went away pretty fast but I didn't like the feeling. I think I'm getting a little too excited a little too fast. I'm limiting myself to 2 outside runs per week until the MRI and I'll just spend the rest of my days in the gym and on the treadmill. I'll probably start working on my core too since I've been neglecting that area forever.
No workout today since I have PT and I was sore yesterday, but I did sign up for that 4th of July 5K!

@Loyalty I usually try not to go past 600 miles on a pair, if they're still wearable after I'm done with them I'll use them as gym shoes when I go do weights or something. Those orange ones didn't last long though since we had a pretty heavy winter over here in NY. Probably only 200 miles on them. Good luck with your weight loss too! I actually thought about getting down to 145 also since 150 isn't that bad, but I'm I start looking pretty lanky at 150 and its not a pretty sight lol. I'll see once I get there. I'm Hispanic so we tend to eat big meals so my grandma always starts to freak whenever I start watching portions and stuff
I see that 6:48 mile bro
nice.
I'm sure you'll be down to 8 minute pace by the fallFinal, FlawlessT, Loyalty and 1 other person like this.
