S80 Let's Make A Timeline Of The Best Rap Albums

    I been looking to get into dusty s--- more, I'm already familiar with the standards ie Wu, Big, Pac, etc but guys like GangStarr and the like I'm sleeping on. The "best album each year since x" thread been done to death and is way too narrow, you leave out a LOT of amazing projects that way. I was thinking we could come together to make a timeline of the best rap albums (think 8/10 minimum) throughout the years, and I'll compile them in the OP and collect DL links to all and then this thread (and the accompying PM chat holding said links) could serve as either a starting point for new rap fans or just a reference for folks wanting to get their rap knowledge up. I assume we'd start at 79 with Rapper's Delight and work our way onwards (unless I'm really schleep and there's even more projects before then). @Fire Squad and @WPG probably the most knowledgeable on the site so ima tag yall so yall can add your input, but anyone's free to make suggestions. Side note: suggestions don't have to be in any order, but 80s/90s should be the focus for now, don't really think anyone needs a reminder for s--- like MBDTF.

    No limit, if it's a good/influential record it should be on here. That's why I said I wanted it to be different from a "best album of x years" thread, limits the scope too much. I want this to be a respectable and all-encompassing collection of the highest-quality rap albums there are.

    Don't wanna be a buzzkill but I think for the time being the cutoff point should be 08. 808s released that year and afaik that and TI's Trap Muzik (which I admittedly don't know the release date of) laid the groundwork for most of today's rap. In the future we can probably expand to modern projects but the focus is older albums that younger posters such as myself should be made aware of.

    Below the Heavens and The Cool for sure can go up there, the others not saying they're bad I just don't know them, trying to figure out a good system to set up because I don't want to be the final say this is moreso an s80 thread than my thread. I think what ima do is check meta and if it's at least 8/10 or close I'll add it, if not I'll either require multiple requests or some sort of blurb stating the case for why it deserves to be added.

    TLDR I'm not rejecting the other choices ima just scour the net and see if they're legit before I add them since I don't have firsthand knowledge.

    Great list, gonna add about half of those rn the other half ima consult meta unless you feel they're under represented in which case feel free to make a blurb here. Like I told @K9l that's not a no to any of them I just don't want to add any album that gets brought up without double checking.
