May 28, 2016 There isn't any bankruptcy protections for a country. He can't petition a court to force our debtors to forgive us like he did to forgive his debt.
May 28, 2016 Imagine watching Hillary Clinton and thinking to yourself, "yeah, this person is going to help fix America." Just because Clinton claims to support many of Sanders' ideas, doesn't mean she aims to implement any of them. She will not change Washington. She will not change Wall Street. She will not change America. Voters are hungry for a change, and the people know she is the farthest thing from it. Her bs line where she says, "Well I'm a woman so I'm an outsider" is such meaningless garbage. She's as much a political animal as most other politicians. Sanders is one of the few politicians that has managed to stay extremely principled throughout his career, and that alone is an atribute worth endorsing him for, regardless of party affiliation.
May 28, 2016 How is Joe Scarborough a puppet of Hillary's? You know he was a Republican congressman who voted for Articles 1 of Impeachment against her husband, right? I'm pretty sure Morning Joe was Pro Trump months before FoxNews was....
May 28, 2016 I don't get it @Pryme... you admire Bernie Sanders for having principles and sticking to them for decades... but you're going to vote for someone who doesn't have any principles and says whatever he thinks will get applause?
May 28, 2016 Two things: 1. Being a woman is an important point when one of the two major parties shut down the government over a financially inconsequential women's health clinic. 2. I think, domestically, Hillary would largely be a continuation of the Obama administration. I can't think of anything I'd rather vote for than more Obama.
May 28, 2016 What do you mean WPG? You don't think it's a good idea to break the 75 year silence of nuclear arms and use them on a nation list terror organization that hasn't attacked America and then give Japan and Korea authority to have their own nuclear arms? What about changing the Constitution and the First Amendment to take out the Freedom of the Press clause? How about ordering the US military to commit War Crimes by targeting non combative citizens to k--- and torturing the enemy? Or a tax plan that is so lenient on the top 1% and corporations it will double our national debt in 4 years? Don't you think that will be a breath of fresh air from 8 years of Obama?
May 28, 2016 Do you think the government would not have shut down if Hillary were president? The role of president doesn't hold much power alone. I like President Obama a lot, but I also recognize his political limitations. Those limitations would definitely be there for Hillary, plus, you must admit, she's not as likable, which probably hurts her potential as a leader. Obama is a way more unifying figure than Hillary is, both domestically and globally. She may share some ideas, but it would not be another term of Obama. Not by a long shot.
May 28, 2016 What are you talking about? Are you printing out peoples' posts, cutting them up into one-word segments, rearranging them at random, then replying to what you come up with? I said that Clinton's gender matters because we have a major political party willing to shut down the government over Planned Parenthood. The legality of and access to abortion is always in jeopardy for American women. That's important and you dismissed it as "meaningless garbage." This is, frankly, a dumb thing to say. It's true that lots of people incorrectly attribute things to the President that are actually the full or partial responsibility of Congress. But a President's decisions can have huge impacts that last decades and are often hard to predict. Pretending that the person in office doesn't matter is ludicrous. Voting for Trump as a protest is ludicrous. Do you honestly believe this? Obama ran in 08 as a unifier and spent his first term--especially the first two years--trying, to his detriment, to be a compromiser on everything but the ACA. Since then, he's faced one of the most stubbornly obstructionist oppositions in the history of the country.
May 28, 2016 But none of what you just said shows why Hillary would in any way be better than Sanders or any other Democrat for that matter. In fact, I don't even understand what you're arguing against. Most of the republicans will be against abortion, regardless of who the president is. Sanders has a 100% pro choice record. I'm sorry, but just because Hillary is a women, does not mean she's somehow stronger on the abortion issue than Sanders. Sanders would, and already has, fought tooth and nail to protect a woman's right to choose. Having Hillary as president, would not somehow stop republican attacks on planned parenthood. Even Trump is against cutting off funding for planned parenthood, and for good reason. Now I see what you're saying. I was not arguing from a pro-trump stance in my last post. I was arguing from my pro-sanders side. I think you're misunderstanding what I'm saying. I meant to convey the fact that even if Hillary were president, the government would have still shut down. I was not saying Trump in office won't do anything. Quite the contrary. But to your point about Obama, he IS more of a unifier. You've correctly identified the political limitations I alluded to in my last post, but have failed to show me how Hillary would be any better.
May 28, 2016 you should apply the same logic to voting for Hillary, she has switched positions just as much as Trump.
May 28, 2016 Being pragmatic and evolving on 4 positions over the course of decades isn't anything compared to what Trump does.
May 28, 2016 "evolving" nice deflection http://www.motherjones.com/blue-mar...alked-back-controversial-statement-about-coal
May 28, 2016 Trump told Howard Stern that he was for the Iraq War before it started... now he lies and says he was always against it. In 2000 when he was a cadidate for the Reform Party he said he would have a one time tax on the top 1% that was so extreme it would balance the US debt, his new tax plan is so extreme the other way we would be giving the top 1% a tax cut that will double our national debt. Also when he was a Reform Party Candidate he said he was 100% Pro Choice and was for third term abortions... now that he is a Republican Party candidate he is 100% Pro Life and thinks woman who have abortions should be punished. As a Reform Candidate he was for stricter gun control and an assault weapons ban. Before he was a Reform Party Candidate he said "I don't see a reason for guns." Recently he said that teachers should carry guns in classrooms. More recently he said teachers shouldn't carry guns in classrooms. As a Reform Party Candidate he was for Universal Healthcare... now he is not for Universal Healthcare and for appealing the Affordable Healthcare Act. In his book "Art of the Deal" he called Ronald Reagan an empty suit with a nice smile... now he calls him the greatest President. He has had dozens of flip flops on immigration... some of his most famous ones are when he said "I will end the H1-b visa program." During a nationally televised debate... only to recant an hour later... Probably when he realized that people will figure out that he employs H1-b visa holders every chance he can and prefers them over American workers... his Mar-a-Largo resort employees are 95% H1-b's. The other was when he called for an immediate 100% ban on Muslims travelling into America... to later say it was a suggestion. That's off the top of my head... I'm not big on spreading Facebook memes.
May 28, 2016 Are you f---ing stupid? She didn't come close to calling for a 100% US travel ban on Muslims entering America. You are a f---ing moron.
