it really gets old how all of you cocksuckers have to start comparing albums as soon as they come out. ALLA hasn't been out long enough for me or any of you guys to determine if it will have legitimate replay value. I thought TPAB was very good, if not great on my first listen, but the shine kind of wore off. I like ALLA a lot more than TPAB at the moment. It's a much more fun record and doesn't take a lot of work to digest it and realize that it's a great album. TPAB is cool, but I don't think it measures up to Kendrick's other 2 great albums.

I wasn't really able to make it through barter 6 (listened to the first 5 songs of it) not really my type of hip hop to be honest. I found some of young thug's other songs more tolerable than that album.

i think TPAB is going to be solid front to back whenever its played. just wore off surprisingly quick. GKMC had much more longevity.

GKMC has better longevity, and so does S80 imo. We'll see though. I'm just not as big on TPAB as i am his other 2.

I wouldn't say that. He shows his diversity on this album. he's progressed since his other 2 and this one sounds completely different. as usual the features are good, the production is really good and his flow on the majority of the tracks makes for an enjoyable listen. It's what I would expect out of an ASAP Rocky project.

this doesn't approach his mixtape. it's probably better than his first album. wildly uneven, with awful songs (lsd, etc) strewn throughout. the features are the saving grace. there's not much going on with him. it's not really on the radar for album of the year; off the top of my head, 2015 is about thug, boosie, ka, woods, earl, bronson, future, gibbs, mike eagle, and knxwledge.

probably because thug generates more discussion. barter 6 was a hotter topic on the board despite being a mixtape with no marketing push, and alla being a huge major label effort. that's not a reflection on the quality of the respective work, but it's reality.

So you're saying all of the A$AP group as a whole can't generate as much or more discussion as young thug? I'm calling bs. I know certain people on here really like thugger, I just don't think it's that many. And barter 6 was only a hot topic because of the controversy it created, if it was just called some other random name, it wouldn't have generated nearly the same amount of discussion.

it's not an opinion--it's observable on the board.

yea lsd prepped to be most overrated song of rocky's career lmao

but yeah my basic thoughts are "probably better than his last album, not nearly as good as the mixtape"

Like I said, barter 6 was such a hot topic because of the controversy it created with the name. If not for that, it would not have generated near the amount of discussion. And if you look now, it's clear there's more hype around ALLA.

    1) it had 20% to do with the controversy surrounding the barter/carter name, and 80% to do with controversy re: thug being a "gay h--- fakket"
    2) ALLA is out, thug is still generating more discussion
    3) yeah ASAP and OF should have their own sections

I don't really care enough to crunch the numbers, but I'm just saying that if thug can have his own section, A$AP should too. And OF like you said.

In the past month I've seen like 15-20 (probably more) Young Thug threads made. I've seen 1 ASAP thread in that same time span, that speaks for itself.
