yeah can almost guarantee that they present 90% of games running on a high-end PC. If they are on a console, it's a ps4pro with 4k tv or xbone scorpio one x 4k or whatever the flying f---. I think a majority of dev's start creating a game with nearly no limitations on high end PC's then start downgrading it to run smoothly on consoles over time. so usually you get texture resolution downgrades, sometimes checkerboard upscaling on lower res', less 3d models on screen, less foliage etc.

I understand PC will always be the highest benchmark a development team can push, but sometimes they downgrade to the point where it's atrocious to play. Ubisoft is known to do this, games like Watch Dogs and Rainbow 6. If you had alooot of freetime and lawyers, you could easily file false advertisement on certain trailers if they don't include the warning in the beginning

I don't know much about making a game @Cyreides might but obviously all games are made on a computer right but I think consoles have a different type of coding you have to use for each console like c plus etc. so its not really downgrading its basically remaking

unlikely, like afaik ps4 sales are doing really well while their ps4 pro's are going up in sales slowly. Sony will just sell them for as long as they can. only way i could see a ps5 being well received as early as next year would be if it were 100% backwards compatible with PS4's and it's literally just a GPU/ram upgrade over the PS4.

most tech companies also just wait til their share prices start to go stagnant/drop then announce their next big thing so stock prices go back up.

there biggest problem is trying to keep up with other games graphics for the most part. Like you get all these "breathtaking open world games" and they look nice but are s--- boring to play because there is never more than 5 enemies on screen

yeah some s--- like that. it's why there isn't a working xbox emulator online atm, cause microsoft built i think like 20 PC's with development kits on them designed for making xbox games n s--- for easy transfer. cause nobody has the source codes from that devkit yet, nobody can translate xbox game code language. or it's pretty much like that

As sweet as GTA V's map is it never beat the cool lil ducked off areas you'd find on the RDR or GTA IV map
I remember when ppl didn't know u could enter the penthouse at the top of that one building by the park in multiplayer and I'd just snipe ppl all day

this to power of 1000. the unexpected s--- you find exploring is GOAT. like nearly every game now that is open world has some kind of scaling system... f--- that off. if i spend like 4 hours running through caves n s---, i should be able to find some kind of fucken bigfoot boss battle.

like i prefer those types of games where maybe you are running around the map exploring then some high level or powerful s--- you're not supposed to fight till later rocks your s---.
