Nov 25, 2018 Why should a billionaire have to pay for someone elses healthcare when, it most cases, they put themselves in that place? Are there problems with our healthcare systems and such? Easily, we have lots of problems that need fixing. But why should we mandate people who have, again for the most part, worked for their money and what they own, give up their money forcefully? I think I do have the moral high ground as Im not advocating theft and insane taxation. It’s a bait title but the idea is just that rich people should pay more in taxes because they can afford to and we should care more about helping 99% of people in our country than we do the 1%. The only reason people think this is unfair is because they’ve been raised in a society where they’ve been taught it is. I used to think the same thing when I was younger but as I got older and had more life experience and worked for corporations that slash employee healthcare plans while VPs get six digit bonuses...you realize this s--- doesn’t make sense. It involves a distinct lack of empathy that’s passed down to us. Me paying ~20% of my income in taxes hurts my quality of life far more than a billionaire paying ~80% of their income in taxes (which I’m not saying should be the percent they pay, just an example of the vast gap in wealth).
Nov 25, 2018 I assume if not all, atleast most billionaires donate a substantial amount of money to charity each year. Even if it's just for tax purposes, these people are still doing quite a bit of good.
