Feb 28, 2021 I always hear that Americans microwave their water to boil it, is that a myth like saying all British people love beans on toast? Even though it’s a symbol of poverty here lmao
Feb 28, 2021 They are just easy convection ovens. You can't fry battered stuff but you can cook meats very easily, cook frozen sides well, bake some things (biscuits cookies etc). Just very easy if you don't have the time to spend two hours on every meal. Esp when you spend your day cooking it's the last thing you want to do which is why most chefs and cooks eat like s--- at home.
Feb 28, 2021 Is there any cooking sites or books you’d recommend for air fryer cooking? Or have you just learnt it all with trial & error?
Feb 28, 2021 Most air fryers come with books with cooking times and recipes and stuff, so those are simple to use. But a lot of it is trial and error mixed with common sense. Like if you check the food and see it's almost done but it has a lot more time than adjust your time. A lot of things have started adding air fryer instructions too so that's helpful. But for the most part if you are unsure of anything just look it up.
Feb 28, 2021 Yeah that was always the most annoying s--- when my family would be like "oh you're a cook? You must eat so amazing" like no lol before I had a family 99% of my meals took two seconds to make and would have made MREs look tasty.
Feb 28, 2021 Rice cookers and electric kettles are goat! Wouldn't sure if it would be considered simple but I've started growing my own herbs (cilantro, basil) and vegetables (tomatoes and peppers). Being able to harvest and eat produce at peak-ripeness really makes you realize how s-----y store-bought produce is. Paying $1.70 for a 30 pack of non-gmo seeds makes each harvest pay for itself. Plus having a bunch of produce around that I know will go bad soon incentives me to eat a bell pepper for a snack instead of some chips or something.
Feb 28, 2021 bought my gf this, along with a pour over set for xmas. heats up to max temp in 2 mins flat. dope.
Feb 28, 2021 That's an extremely great gift package for any coffee lover. I've only made pour over a few times at a friends' house so that's something I wanna invest in at some point.
Mar 1, 2021 Anyone here use a french press? My old roommate had one. While the coffee was good, I didn't see the hype behind it.
Mar 1, 2021 I haven't in a minute but I used to all the time. Like with all brewing methods it can turn out like s--- or tasting great depending on the quality of the beans and whether or not the person knows what they're doing. And even if you know what you're doing if you use s-----y beans it's not gonna make much of a difference. I use an aeropress now though and I've gotten my method down so well that at night I'm excited for it to be morning so I can make coffee again lol.
Mar 1, 2021 Ah this makes sense. I know he used to buy some pretty expensive beans but maybe his method was s--- like you said. May have to try it again. Aeropress sounds pretty dope
Mar 3, 2021 Airfryer. I like to cook / bake but sometimes I just dont have time or want to. Ever since I bought this, life is easier. There are so many things u can make with this, w less fat AND time than a frying pan or usual baking. U can simply turn it on and go do something else. Great purchase. And not even that expensive.
Mar 3, 2021 I'm with you on this one! I drink the occasional green tea but mostly coffee. @Donkey Kong Country just look at this... https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/house...kettles/336_3156_30244_xx_xx/xx-criteria.html That will give you some idea of how popular kettles are in the UK. If I didn't have kids then I'd invest in a robo-hoover. My brother finally moved out of our parents a couple of years ago into his own place and he bought one and swears by it. What other things? Couple of wireless chargers in convenient places is kinda cool. As long as they fast charge. I love tech so when I get a better place to live I'd probably splash some cash on one of those video door bell things.
