No he didn't. Joe never commented on the quality of the album then, nor has he since. He trashed 'Untouchable', the terrible album roll out, the optics of the anti-Trump anti-Racism push, and the tracklist, ultimately saying Eminem is being mishandled by his team because the album 'looks' bad. All the while Joe constantly reminds us that Eminem is a genius and deserves the benefit of the doubt. Well it is kind of Joe's job now. You gotta do what you have to when your label is garbage. Most of the responses are due to the deliberately inflammatory reporting around the comments. Royce defends Eminem's right to exist in black culture because "Joe dissed Em for exploiting black culture" is what he heard. I listened to him speak. Joe didn't say that. He actually refuted the claim that Em was exploiting the culture in any way, echoing Royce's response and making it redundant.
