Dec 29, 2014 Not sure about all genres, but hiphop I think I agree with. Didn't read the whole thread but if Stan doesn't count as a real rap song then runaway shouldn't be in a rap conversation either. Both are classics though whatever you label them.
Dec 30, 2014 Eminem is my 2nd favorite rapper but i've never understood the love for Stan. Its not in my top 5 eminem songs and i think i'd even put Bad Guy ahead of it to be honest. Please no s--- storm
Jan 1, 2015 The writing itself is incredible, how he tells a story through a collection of letters/memo. Also the build between the 1st verse and the 3rd verse, the atmosphere of the track & Dido's voice blend perfectly etc. I can keep going on. Stan is excellent on all levels. Not to mention the originality of the track.

Jan 2, 2015 It is no doubt, up there as one of the best. Anyone saying it can't be classified as a hip hop song because of the hook is an absolute fool and doesn't even understand what a hook/chorus even is, let alone how hip hop even originated. Fall back and acknowledge great music.
