Jul 16, 2019 I hate that I haven't gotten too deep into Isaiah's other music yet. He just sounds, bored as f--- on Sun's Tirade.
Jul 16, 2019 2014 looking strong tho for sure. Some of the projects I personally loved from 2014 were: Young Fathers - Dead Vince Staples - Shyne Coldchain Vol.2 Uyama Hiroto - Freedom of the Sun Open Mike Eagle - Dark Comedy Lil Herb - Welcome to Fazoland Future - Honest D'Angelo - Black Messiah Anderson .Paak - Venice
Jul 17, 2019 Mainly due to the fact Zay was in the midst of recovering from addiction. I guess with that context in mind while being aware of his penchant for heart-rending themes in his music, it makes more sense to listeners familiar with him, but would probs come across as bored or disengaging to those who aren't. I personally love him (evidently) and would definitely implore you to listen (or re-listen) to Cilvia Demo, because that's the best entry point and more energetic by far. Sun's Tirade is "music for the vibers" as he put it on rope // rosegold.
Jul 17, 2019 I was tempting to put Fazoland in there, but I already had Sosa’s s--- on there, and it gave Herbo a run for his money. I personally wanted PartyNextDoor's album on here, but a lot of people hated that s---, I really liked it.
Jul 17, 2019 great list, i agree with all of these, especially the migos pick, smart call on that i gotta say its missing PND 2 iLoveMakonnen EP Cilvia Demo Shyne Coldchain Vol. 2 The God Complex Monster (very important)
Jul 17, 2019 unfucking believable that I forgot to put that in. Pretend it's there for now, I'll edit the rest.
Sep 6, 2019 Lil bird told me to stay off the weed, and get the f--- back to work. 2015 otw. If anyone's still interested.
Sep 6, 2019 Every Drake album is there but Cole has just one ? No Em, Snoop (not that he really released good stuff at the time but still). HAlf of the albums were meh. Of course every Kanye album is there, even Yeezus. Not that it matters but the list is just not my type. I wonder if any of you really listen to all those albums front to back or at least have u ever listened to those more than 2 times as a whole ? I took a quick look at the albums released between 2010-14 and there are like 10 albums I can still listen to from front to back.
Sep 6, 2019 I didn't write 2013, Born Sinner would've been there if I could. FYI I do listen to all these albums in its entirety. Maybe I enjoy more s--- than you do but who knows
Sep 6, 2019 im finally getting the chance to write again do you wanna take 15 and ill cover 16? or do you still wanna leave 15 to me
Sep 6, 2019 I disagree with some of their picks but overall they show a fairly versatile look at must-listen albums for the decade so far. If you can't find more than 10 albums you like on there, that sounds like more of a you problem than a problem with the list. Sounds like you just don't like 2010s rap besides mediocre Eminem albums. Also idk why people are ever surprised that Yeezus makes it onto these lists—it's very acclaimed despite being polarizing upon release.
Sep 7, 2019 It's a matter of taste but calling em albums mediocre sounds funny when you actually say yeezus deserve to be on tgat list. Sure it was really unique. But half of it was pretty forgetable and uneasy to listen to. The thing is i don't really like checking out too many rappers unless i find something really interesting about them. I don't only listen to rap music. Plus, there are so many classics and legends in rap that even when they release smh average, I'm interested in what they would say and how they would sound. I didn't really say anything bad about the list, it's just not for me. Some albums i dont remember, few albums i have never listened but the fact that every drake album is there tells me smh. Btw, i'd prefer listening to drake than most of the new school rappers, not that he got anything interesting to say but at least he sounds good.
