Jul 21, 2025 That's actually a good point, even if whatever came after would've been s---, people could at least look at it as "at least he's doing his thing" just like people also claimed he was "having fun" whenever he dropped s--- music the last decade I guess his comeback being too experimental or out there f----- the whole thing up, at least lyrically and execution wise cause the production was some of the best of his career
Jul 22, 2025 Recovery is one of my favourite Eminem albums for whatever reason. Biggest what if for me is revival. I've said it on this forum before but I always wonder what the original revival was like? All the drug style advertising, the phone lines ans youtube videos. Then Trump won and the album became all 'Murica.
Jul 22, 2025 I unfortunately think Revival was doomed no matter what. I do wonder that the original album was intended to be but it probably wasn't very good either. We all know Dre had a major influence in changing the direction. He played the album for him and told him it was too serious or something and needed more playful/fun songs. The playful songs were terrible on this album. We know he recorded Offended very close to when he released the album/after the BET Cypher and that song turned out....well...yikes. Despite him adding more playful songs the serious ones were not good either. I think he had a lot of personal s--- going on that impacted his creativity during that time. Kim attempted suicide in late 2016 and there were probably other personal things that impacted this album. I wish he gave some honest insight into what happened during this albums creation because something major was probably going on while he created this album. Maybe he was just extremely lost in what to do with his music during this period. His last two albums performed well and maybe he just made all the wrong decisions for this follow up. I don't know. It does have three of his strongest tracks in the later part of his career though (In Your Head, Castle, Arose). It would be interesting if he released what he originally had intended because he probably would have received backlash but not as strong as what he did so, does Kamikaze even happen in that timeline? He's so sensitive so a version of Kamikaze would probably still happen honestly.
Jul 22, 2025 Didn't know about the Dre stuff so that's good info. Judging on the build up too it, I wouldn't of taken it as a serious album coming up. So yeah would be interesting to hear.

Jul 22, 2025 Literally can’t sleep at night because I’m so excited for this soundtrack. I can’t help but theorize for hours on end about what tracks will be on the tracklist. Everybody wishes I would shut up about it but I just can’t stop talking about it.

I told all the McDonald’s employees about it yesterday when I was ordering my Quarter Pounder with Cheese, and I’m gonna make sure they all preorder the STANS soundtrack. I even told them I’d be willing to pay for their Ubers that take them to go see the movie in theaters. I also cut off my best friend because he said he didn’t care about the STANS soundtrack. That’s not a best friend to me, that’s not a best friend that I need.
