Dec 19, 2016 I watched Rogue 1 and TFA but I haven't watched any of the other films, what order is the best order?
Dec 19, 2016 Yeah I'm back and forth on it. I'm bringing my kids this week, so we'll see if I still love it. Like I said, the story drew me in, even though I KNEW what the story was about. The characters really didn't connect with me like TFA or the originals, but they were OK. Like, I really didn't care about Jyn much, but I liked the Chirrut, the droid, and Cassian. Cassian was interesting to me, I actually wish he was the main character, because he seemed the most ruthless, for the most part. As far as the tie fighter, I was kinda happy that it didn't show up. I felt like she would've easily died there, even though it was a cool shot...
Dec 19, 2016 Do you know the basic story, or are you absolutely lost? If you don't know anything about Star Wars, like the backstory or anything, I'd start with A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi... However, I'm sure TFA kinda gave you the back story of all the characters, so maybe go Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, etc etc.
Dec 19, 2016 I already know most of the story just not characters and details, im contemplating going 1-6 or machete
Dec 19, 2016 Well, there's a huge twist, that's why, but it's not a twist if you go 1-6, only if you go 4-6 then 1-3
Dec 19, 2016 I agree about the characters. I was immediately drawn to Poe, Finn and Rey but I really could care less about anyone in rogue one except for the droid lol. I really enjoyed the story though and the entire time on scarif was awesome. Lol @ the tie fighter scene, yeah she would have gotten destroyed but god d--- it I wanted to see that badass shot. I assume an x wing shot it down before the tie pilot could have shot.
Dec 20, 2016 Better than I, II, and maybe III might even be the best since the originals ... need to see it again Very impressed Wasn't expecting this at all to be honest Plot details are pretty obvious and foreseeable But very enjoyable nonetheless Stellar action Beautiful landscapes Star wars spirit all over I'm so happy. They delivered force awakens is cat piss compared to this
Dec 20, 2016 Decent movie, tied things leading to ANH nicely. Stumbled during first half. Wasn't as good scene for scene as ep7, and characters weren't as good. VADER IN ACTION!!!
Dec 20, 2016 I enjoyed Space Basterds. As far as people not connecting to the characters, I think that was the point. In war, there are always unsung heroes. This was the film for unsung heroes.
Dec 20, 2016 Yeah I guess you're right. I never really thought of it like that. But, I still think Spoiler Vader being revealed as Luke's father is the GOAT twist in a movie. But, you're right.
Dec 21, 2016 Start from Phantom Menace. You'll want to k--- yourself through the prequels but you'll get the full story. The original trilogy began and ended before I was born but I'm old enough to have seen the 20th Anniversary re-release in 1997. One of my favorite film going experiences of all time and made me a huge Star Wars fan. I really wasn't interested as a child.
Dec 21, 2016 See that's never done much for me, and I kind of hate that scene anyway due to hamills acting I prefer the twist from seeing the prequels first cause Spoiler it's a pretty shocking twist for a trilogy to end with the main protagonist who was the chosen one turning on everyone he's been with from the start, killing the woman he loved and was trying to save from death, overthrowing the government he served, wiping out ally forces (including children), knowingly helping an evil dictator rise to power, and becoming horribly disfigured after being set on fire by his best friend/mentor in a battle to the death where he also loses 3 limbs and is forced to wear a breathing machine suit forever after... i definitely think that>>>>the other twist
Dec 21, 2016 Spoiler Vaders castle in on mustafar and he can see the lava river, where he lost the fight in RotS, from his bacta tank. Great movie, with great references to RotS and ANH. edit: Spoiler Maybe we see the castle again in VIII. The Knights of Ren could live there or even Snoke. http://www.slashfilm.com/darth-vaders-castle-rogue-one/
