Oct 10, 2017 I'm not impressed by the trailer. This is flashy and overindulgent. Episode 7 had the same trailers as Episode 8, why? to hide the fact that this "new trilogy" is a mere f---ing reboot. Jurassic World at least had risk and was a bigger and better Jurassic Park (you got to see the park come to life and collapse not due to mistakes but due to an eventual fate; which made the ending a bit more depressing than Jurassic Park's.) I used to like it but now I don't because the stupid sequels they're making take place on the same island. That's what killed the JP franchise in the first place. Lost World was okay but who the f--- needed Jurassic Park 3? I was more interested in the "open source dinosaurs" than the "return to the island again" thing. Hollywood doesn't like to create anything new, only rehash. It looks cool and I'll enjoy it but I want that EU Star Wars s---; I'm even beginning to respect the prequels for what they were.
Oct 18, 2017 It's still going to s--- though. I wanted George Lucas' original concept for Ep 7-9 but we'll never get it thanks to Hollywood rehash bs.
Oct 18, 2017 The films would of basically shown the old generation (Luke Skywalker/Han Solo/Rebellion/C3PO/whoever else I can't remember) passing the baton to the new generation in a way that would of been an entirely different story. Ep 1-3 had a radically different story than the original trilogy and if it weren't for the massive hate that the prequels got; we would of gotten Ep 7-9 as intended. I know the prequels weren't exactly top-notch but each film was original and didn't rehash the old films. Disney is rehashing because of the nostalgia of Star Wars, the excitement of Star Wars coming back (to the point where they'll accept anything) and a new audience who have not seen the old films yet. Star Wars is already a money maker but Disney is pushing Star Wars into overdrive since their entire goal is to make a lot of money and all. I mean sure, Pixar has autonomy and there are a couple of one-off films that don't get turned into franchises but Disney pushes it's established franchises like crazy and that has turned me off from Disney somewhat. The stuff that I like that comes out of Disney is the low-key stuff that isn't pushed onto the masses. After all, it's the low-key stuff that has that "magic", not the Marvel or Star Wars stuff.
Oct 20, 2017 how are you gonna use jurassic world as an example of good reboot then s--- on star wars? lmfao. can't wait for Quip Pratt the Raptor Whisperer 2
Oct 21, 2017 The premise of Star Wars is that... there's a universe out there with infinite stories and worlds. Something the OT did exceptionally and the prequel did well (if it weren't for the storytelling)... Jurassic World is a good reboot in the sense that the stakes expand beyond the main characters and towards the corporate/park side of things... You were almost hoping that the park would be back to business at the end with minimal PR damage but of course, you knew... Nothing can beat Jurassic Park though; the entire way it's constructed, presented and portrayed gives it more meaning and more pleasure. Jurassic World is cool but by not following it up with something like say... I don't know, Dinosaurs off the island then well... it lost it's excuse and becomes yet another movie to reboot a franchise. JP franchise only had 2 films anyway. The OG and "The Lost World". I do have the right to s--- on Star Wars because it's not bound to the same rules as "Jurassic Park". It's not based off of realism or anything scientifically plausible which gives it the ability to do anything it wanted; just imagine all of the locations throughout the franchise, even Cloud City blew your mind as a kid. I'm witnessing s--- like "The Force Awakens" and "The Last Jedi" and it's like... The OT was already good, why would you need to retell the story but with different characters? This isn't passing the baton off to a new generation, this is a new generation being introduced by old characters in a familiar story. I wanted a more powerful enemy than the Sith instead of this Sith redux we eventually got. I wanted the old generation to truly realize the new generation was the future and their only hope but instead... We've got Disney stealing the soul from Star Wars to make $$$... Difference between JP and SW is that people will know when JP sequels s---, SW sequels will give Disney automatic praise and make them a lot of money...
Oct 21, 2017 this the most r----- s--- I read today. Force Awakens was generic and still better than half the star war movies that already exist.
Oct 21, 2017 1 - jar jar 2 - lead actor trash @ acting 3 - lead actor trash @ acting As a trilogy pretty good and great story but lots of filler and a few glaringly obvious flaws. 4 - light hearted adventure 5 - more darker tones and themes added 6 - Troopers belonging to the most powerful Galactic Empire in the galaxy, with the most advanced technology in the world lose to 3 ft tall stick wielding gremlins As a trilogy the tones are pretty jarring, especially from 5-6. The "conclusion" of 6, apart from Luke/Anakins story was r-----ed. 7 - all good actors, some great. just good overall and no glaringly obvious flaws or retardations. can easily be argued its setting 8 up as one of the best in the franchise.
Oct 22, 2017 I do agree with this. Everything was made to be perfect but I really wanted the story (or at least the trilogy) to be more original. I'm put off by the trailer but if Disney doesn't "overperfectualize" everything down to a science then it might be better than TFA. And that was pretty good if you didn't think about how much it was familiar to "A New Hope".
Nov 9, 2017 Depending on what direction they go with this new trilogy, it could be exciting, but I don't know at this point. I'd be much more enthralled if they came out and said it was focusing around the KOTOR saga
