Feb 29, 2016 If anyone jumps to about 30 or so minutes into that Analyis video I posted, it quotes the reviews from 1980 of TESB. Reception for that film, considered to be the best in the series, was lukewarm (Haha Lukewarm). This s--- is subjective and they all have flaws. And the complaints weighed against TESB are very similar to TFA.

Feb 29, 2016 That is all well and good. But the way you phrased it weather you were aware of it or not was rather passive aggressive. Actually more so along the lines of just regular old aggressive. Text doesn't have inflection like voice does. And even if you were to say that out loud in a jokey manor, you would still be belittling his taste in a way that puts him below you as if he is lesser (comparing him to a child and insinuating you are the grown up with better taste in film), simply because he enjoys a movie. No hate here but I'm just letting you know that wasn't cool.

Feb 29, 2016 orrrrrrrr less than 10% of the prequels have good - great dialogue. the other 90% is trash. if you can't see that, then that's cool. enjoy your movies with poor dialogue.
Feb 29, 2016 that is all well and good but i don't take this forum as seriously as you guys and know that around only 10% of emotional value can be taken from text based messages. Not only this, but language is open for interpretation. you're saying what I said was aggressive and belittles him and puts me above him with my tastes. Well if you're going to interpret me as being a superior person that looks down on people with shittier taste, your fault for interpreting it that way my man.
Feb 29, 2016 matter of fact, most of SW got this s--- in some form or another... some critics back then thought ANH and SW in general were overblown generic scifi blockbusters with too many special effects and s--- dialogue when it came out, and that was long before any dream of the PT and i think the only reason the main reception for TFA is so great is because half the movie (whether it's a problem for you or not) and the marketing leading up to it might as well make the title of the movie SW EP 7: SORRY. so a lot of people have jumped onto it because of that, regardless of whether or not they'll end up thinking the movie is great (which i have no problem with, do u fam) but it needs to be said, especially regarding the reception for the PT, since it was actually MUCH better when they came out (and even tho it was more divisive as far as opinions go, it was still greatly recieved overall). it wasn't until all the RLM videos gained traction because of how funny they were that the "PT SUCKS AND NO ONE LIKES IT" bs started to spread around the internet... couple that with peoples expectations being too high after over a decade of waiting and a lot of what they wanted being firmly grounded in their nostalgic views of the OT, and eventually s--- hits the fan like it is now. and when you have people that actively push their opinion onto others (and put people down for not agreeing *COUGH* like in this thread), it eventually starts to choke out the opposing opinion of things like this across the board. as far as the internet is concerned now, no one likes the PT and they s--- and no one ever liked them... but that isn't the case... and if you go to the biggest star wars forum on the internet, you can see this isn't true. just like the OT wasn't always the treasured relic it is today

The hate for the original trilogies stems from people watching it when they were young and enjoying, then re-watching it as an adult and understanding the dialogue is piss poor. i dont even know wtf an RLM video is. sorry you felt "put down" by what I said. I'm just saying what I feel, it's my opinion that only children could enjoy the prequels. I know they have bad dialogue though, as would any normal functioning adult member of society.

Feb 29, 2016 Definitely my least favorite. I didn't hate it though. I actually enjoyed Shia in the film. Prefer the originals. 3 is my fav. The Monkey swinging scene tho
