The two n----s that made it out of the West without Dre. Both of them made very solid debut albums to kick off their highly potential careers. In the past I made a thread about which artists have the potential to create a classic album and included both of them, now it's time to compare what they have made so far. I'm pretty excited to follow how their careers pan out.

    My Krazy Life (2014)

The title of this album sums of the content of what YG addresses in the album. My Krazy Life is a concept album about the significant moments of his life and his current lifestyle. The album did OK commercially, but I felt like he succeeded better with the critics than he did with his album sales, but none of that is relevant because YG had blessed us with a much needed West Coast album. This album contained enjoyable singles with the likes of; My n----- with Jeezy and Quan, Left, Right and Who Do You Love with Drake. He also had other very notable songs, my favourites were Bompton and I Just Wanna Party which feature TDE members Jay Rock and Schoolboy. This album was a standout for me in what was considered a weak year in Hip-Hop.

    Summertime 06 (2015)

Vince came through in 2015, a year with many great projects, this was among one of them. After my first listen I was hooked to this album, I haven't really listened to much albums that had a similar sound, production wise. It was put together really well, though I wasn't the greatest fan of the double disc, it took me a while to get into the 2nd disc, the 1st one was the best by far imo. The album felt like it was touching on event that happened in his childhood (Summer 2006 one could guess) going upwards. He released 2 singles in Senorita and Get Paid, while I'm a fan of both, they weren't the songs that stood out for me, Lift Me Up, Summertime and especially Norf Norf were what made this album have a great replay value.

So which album do you like the best?

I was disappointed with s06, it was put together horribly and there's too many tracks imo

Both incredible but I replayed Summertime 06 a lot more than MKL. Vince has more amazing verses than YG on his project as well.

I can't wait for YG's next album tho

Yeah I wasn't a fan of the format of the tracklisting, but excluding the interludes and s--- there were only about 15 songs an went for 60 mins.

There were a couple of songs on MKL that I had to get rid of. Also DJ Mustard.

Summertime '06 was a flawless experience front to back on multiple listens. There's not a single thing I'd change on it.

You talking about Left, Right or Mustards production in general?

Summertime is a fantastic album. My Krazy Life was decent - had a few average songs and some poor production.

I don't like Mustard in general. If he didn't produce 11/18 (both deluxe edition bonus tracks) songs, I'd probably love the album a lot more.

Not a fan of Vince but My Krazy Life is one of my top albums of 2014. Although the production is repetitive, I don't mind it on this album ONLY. To be honest, I don't mind repetitive DJ Mustard beats AS LONG AS IT'S YG. Cuz YG goes hard on em beats.
