See, I don't mind when Peyton, Montana or even Rodgers are compared to Brady, as long as the argument makes sense, and goes beyond statistics.

Peyton and Brady, to me, are the GOATs. It extends farther than stats though. Peyton led offenses just as efficiently as Brady did. The biggest difference though was Peyton wasn't as good as game managing as Brady. He didn't know how to pace his offense for his defense, like Brady did/does. Peyton was also more selfish than Brady. As I used the example earlier, one of Peyton's greatest plays was a hand-off to Joseph Addai against the Patriots, but those moments were so rare for Peyton. I view Rodgers the same way.

In all honesty, last year's playoff run was one of Peyton's best stretches. It was truly masterful how he led that offense. People will say "LOL BUT HE DIDN'T THROW WELL", but he truly maximized his offense's strengths, and played to the strengths of the defense. Problem was, he didn't use these tactics in his prime as much as he should've, especially in the playoffs.

Peyton was as great as Brady at dissecting defenses, not only for passes, but blocking assignments (for the run and pass). I don't view Rodgers or Brees like that. Also, Peyton and Brady have the best pocket presence/awareness of ANYONE I've ever seen.

As far as pure passing though, it amazes me how f---ing good Brady's deep ball has gotten this year. His deep ball is the best it's ever been, hands down.

It's no coincidence his best game was in 04 since they recorded our practice

Philly, Carolina and Atlanta. Put em all in the same category, zero SB's. Brady has his best games against those teams.

I want @Fitzy's take on this. They also wrote mini write ups for each grade here.

I'm not the biggest fan of PFF because a lot of their analysis is stat based, and I think there's things that happen in football that just don't involve stats...Like... that Rams Super Bowl... what Brady did was one of the greatest moments ever in SB history. Here's my ranking

    1. Super Bowl 38 vs Carolina. The way Brady played the second half was pure brilliance. This is one of the examples I use when people say that our defenses were elite back then. The defense absolutely broke apart, and Brady bailed us out, time and time again. Even though Kasay had that kick out of bounds, that put us at the 40, that last drive was f---ing crazy. The poise Brady showed, and the f---ing throws he made on that last drive... Godly.

    2. Super Bowl 49 vs Seattle... Facing possibly the greatest secondary ever, he picked them apart. Granted, the 2 interceptions hurt, kinda, but the 4th quarter was the best 4th quarter ever, by any QB in a Super Bowl. Just unbelievable. He was incredibly accurate in that 4th.

    3. Super Bowl 36 vs St. Louis... Facing another great defense (top 3 that year) that was mainly fast, he only put up one TD, but man, his game managing was great. Plus, being backed up, with 0 timeouts and 1:20 in the 4th, after the Rams stormed back? He didn't make any mistakes, which happened vs. that Rams team a lot... He managed the game, and came through in the clutch.

    4. Super Bowl 39 vs Philadelphia... Kinda gets overlooked for me because I actually do think that the defense carried us in this game. Brady was great in this game. His throw to David Givens was impressive, but this was probably the best Patriots' team we've ever had. They were dominant. They destroyed McNabb all game long. It wasn't really a contest, even though the score was close.

    5. Super Bowl 42 vs Giants.... Brady got killed all game long, until the 4th. That last drive he put together was masterful. He probably had a better overall game statistically in the rematch, but he basically managed the game perfectly in this one. It was a tough defensive struggle, and Brady didn't make any mistakes to cost us, and he came through in the clutch, when it mattered most. Too bad our f---ing defense dropped 3 interceptions (Rodney, Asante and Meriweather), didn't stop a 4th and 1, and didn't recover a fumble. Biggest choke job by a defense, ever.

    6. Super Bowl 46 vs Giants... Awful game by Brady's standards, to be honest. Statwise, it looks pretty, but maaaaaan. The safety? The f---ing safety... The DUMB interception he threw to Gronk... After he threw that, I was like wtf were you looking at?

You're giving Atlanta's defense far too much credit

That's fair enough. Their grades are based on film-watching though unlike other statistics like say passer rating or QBR where you just plug numbers into a formula and boom, you get a rating. They actually have people watch/grade every play which then has to go through a verification process. Your list and there's aren't all that different though outside of the ranking of the Rams/Patriots SB. Even though Brady recieved a poor grade for that game--I don't know if you read the write-up but they wrote this:

Yeah, IDK, I don't normally agree with their grading with a lot of things. Like, they have the Giants rematch way too high for me, and the Eagles Super Bowl was too high for me too.

The Rams Super Bowl, while statistically underwhelming, how Brady managed that game, and then performed in the clutch? It was like a f---ing switch went off and he played at an all-pro level. He did that all year in 2001. He would manage games, much like a system QB, then would go crazy in the clutch. They were facing an elite defense (that Rams defense doesn't get enough credit), plus they didn't really have many weapons to stretch the field, aside from Troy Brown, who was more of a return guy, although he had a really solid year receiving.

If the fumble recovery for a TD doesn't get called back, then I'd put the Rams vs Patriots as Brady's worst Super Bowl, but I cannot ignore that last drive. It was magical.

But, I think that 2003 Super Bowl was the best by Brady. He was basically unstoppable in that second half. He was in such a zone.

I totally forgot about that fumble recovery for a TD though... lol. I was f---ing going nuts when Tebucky Jones ran it back... Then it was a holding on Willie McGinest.

    Would've been 24-3 in the 4th quarter.
